n	This clinic is specifically designed to meet the needs of novice off-hig

complete understanding. In the class we will cover basic information abou
t 4WD vehicles (just enough to understand what is going on). We will cover
a lot of safety and environmental concerns. But the largest part of the c
lass is driving technique to get you through a variety of terrain. A hando
ut of the material covered is provided. Here is a list of items we will co
	ver: Off Road Vehicles\, How 4WD Works\, Driving Technique\, Safety\, Pre
Run Check\, Survival &amp\; Peace of Mind Kits\, Options &amp\; Accessorie
s\, Overview of options for getting unstuck\, Post Trip maintenance\, Trai
l Etiquette &amp\; Tread Lightly. \n\n\n	The class does not address vehic
le build-up options and issues. This class is a prerequisite for Getting S
tarted Off-Road Driving - Day 2. \n\n\n\n	The class will answer these que
stions and many more questions:\n\n\n\n\n How do you avoid damage to an e
xpensive vehicle?\n	\n	\n What is the critical difference you need to und
erstand about operation of 4WD systems?\n	\n	\n What do you need to avoid
\, when descending a steep Hill?\n	\n	\n What impact does an automatic tr
ansmission have on off-road driving?\n	\n	\n How can you improve your tra
ction by 250%?\n	\n	\n How deep can you safely cross water?\n	\n	\n What
is the most important safety item you can bring?\n	\n	\n What are 10 way
s to effect vehicle recovery?\n	\n\n\n	Each vehicle will receive a copy of
Jim Allen's Book \"Four-Wheeler's Bible\". Retail price on this book is $
34.99. This 200 plus page book is chock full of color pictures to illustra
te how it works\, what to do\, and what to avoid. \n\n\n\n	You need a sto
ck SUV or 4WD vehicle with 4 low range capability. All wheel drive vehicle
s that do not have a 2 speed transfer case are not appropriate for the cla
ss. Two examples of vehicles that are not appropriate for the class includ
e Subaru Forester and the Honda Ridgeline. \n\n\n	The class is about 4 ho
urs of classroom and 4 hours of behind the wheel practice. Hungry Valley h
as a practice area for 4WD that we will use. Everyone has a lot of fun. It
is a great way to learn about your vehicle and build confidence. The clas

DESCRIPTION:\n\n	The Sno*Drift Rally is a performance rally that feature
s prepared 2 wheel and 4 wheel  drive cars. These cars race on real roads
in a time based competition. The Sno*Drift Rally features two days of rac
ing on Montmorency County roads over snow and ice. It is the only planned
snow event on the Rally America National Championship schedule attracting
more than fifty domestic and international teams as well as legions of ded
icated rally fans. Many teams consider Sno*Drift to be their favorite even
t due to the unique experience of running the icy\, snow banked roads WITH
OUT studded tires at high speeds.  Top teams from across the United State
s are expected to attend the Sno*Drift Rally\, as well as teams from many
other countries. This year Sno*Drift will feature 15 stages that run a tot
al distance of 130 miles.\n\n\n\n	Since 2005 the Sno*Drift Rally has tradi
tionally been the kickoff to the Rally America National Championship and w
ill continue that role for the 2018 season.  Sno*Drift received Honorable
Mention in 2008\, and in 2005\, 2011\, and 2012 was named “Rally of the
Year”\, being declared the benchmark by which other Rally America Natio
nal Championship events are judged.\n\n\n\n	This is the 50th anniversary o
f the Sno*Drift Rally. The first Sno*Drift Rally was in 1966. The 1973 Sno
*Drift was the first complete event ever held as a stage type or performan
ce rally in the US. After several dormant years\, the current series was r
estarted as a national event in Montmorency County in 1997.\n\n
