January 23, 20179 yr Went to Valvoline and had an oil change done, trans fluid change and Coolant flush and fill with "universal fluid". After we left Check Engine light came on and so did the DAC light. We brought it back to Valvoline Instant Oil Change so they could fix whatever it is they broke. Jason (manager) checked everything again and checked engine code which showed this P0014: Exhaust (B) Camshaft Position Timing - Over-Advanced (Bank 1) P0021: Intake (A) Camshaft Position Timing - Over-Advanced (Bank 2) P0024: Exhaust (B) Camshaft Position Timing - Over-Advanced (Bank 2) So of course we drove it straight home and parked it since the dealership was closed Saturday and Sunday. I heard some clanking sound (it sounded like valves chattering). Usually you only hear valve clatter sound if they are loose (which isn't normal for a toyota) or if you are running low on oil. Jason (manager) said to bring it to the dealership and if the dealership finds it to be a fault of there work then have them contact him.
January 23, 20179 yr Author So brought the Toyota 4Runner to the Toyota Service in Grand Blanc at 7:30am and they just found the issue. The tube is missing from the middle of the housing that keeps the filter from collapsing. So the filter is collapsed preventing oil from getting to the engine. Also they put the wrong AntiFreeze/Coolant in. Looks like the repair is around $500 Now let's see if Valvoline will fix there mistake.
