August 25, 200916 yr I am a firm believer in having backups of my system even though in the three years I have owned my MacBook Pro and the six years I have owned my Powerbook G4 laptop, I have not had one hardware issue (even with a full cup of coffee spilled on my MacBook Pro). With one purchased program (SuperDuper for $30 so you have the scheduling capability) you can autoset your Mac to startup and run a full backup of your system. First install SuperDuper if you haven't done so already and next let's setup the Mac to startup automatically. I have mine start at 5:00am and have the backup startup by 5:30am and when I start working at 6:00am I am running with a full backup before the day starts. Next, open system preferences and look for the hardware section where Energy Saver option is located Click on the Schedule button located in the bottom right corner of the screen You will then get a prompt to set the time and which days you would like to startup your Mac. It's as simple as that. Now that we have the Mac starting up, let's setup SuperDuper....
