iMovie not seeing my camcorder

Featured Replies

I know this has worked before but for some reason when I plugged my Canon Optura 20 into my Macbook Pro Firewire 400 port it won't detect it. I did get an error message saying Device Removal, blah blah blah.. the error message you get when you detach something before ejecting it. The weird part is, it was never connected.

The issue is you have other Firewire devices plugged in (could be in either the 400 or 800 port). Eject those devices and try again and iMovie will probably detect your camcorder.

Remember one of the nice parts about Mac OS X is you don't have to download all those silly drivers Windows requires to get your device (or camcorder) to work.
