September 22, 201114 yr Moderators Hi, I've been watching you Youtube channel for some time now, and I have a question regarding getting people to view my website off my web server. Here's the situation. I purchased a domain name from GoDaddy.com and would like to host the file from my own custom webserver. I am currently using Centos 5.4 OS. I would like to host the site off port 885 through my ipcop firewall. So, my problem is, how do i change the port to 885 on the server and do I add the GoDaddy dns server address on my firewall so people who type in my website name see my seat. If the situation isn't clear. let me know Thanks to all those who can through me some direction..

So you are using GoDaddy.com just for the domain registration (probably DNS also). How is your website accessible on the internet? Are you hosting at your home or another provider? Do you know your public IP Address? Are you using something like DynDNS? I have successfully hosted my own CentOS server at my home over Comcast using a Linksys connected to DynDNS.
