Kia has announced official pricing for its most important model of the year, the 2027 Telluride. The three-row crossover has been a resounding success for the Korean marque in the United States, in part due to the attractive pricing of base models. Whereas the outgoing model starts at $36,390, the 2027 version has a base MSRP of $39,190. Despite that $2,800 increase, it’s slightly less expensive than the Hyundai Palisade in base form. The rest of the lineup is more expensive, though, so let’s take a closer look.

The mix of trims and powertrains is comprehensive, with there being 12 individual Kia Telluride derivatives. That’s based only on the non-hybrid model with its new 2.5-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine. Here’s a look at pricing for the entire lineup.

Model

Price

LX FWD

$39,190

S FWD

$42,090

S AWD

$44,090

EX FWD

$43,790

EX AWD

$45,790

X-Line EX AWD

$47,290

SX FWD

$48,790

X-Line SX AWD

$51,790

X-Pro SX AWD

$53,690

SXP AWD

$53,890

X-Line SXP AWD

$54,890

X-Pro SXP AWD

$56,790

All prices exclude the destination charge of $1,545.

While the base trim is $2,800 pricier, some trims got a smaller price bump. The EX is $1,700 more than the 2025 equivalent, for instance, while the X-Line EX is only $805 more than before. However, for the top trim, you’re looking at a price increase of $3,105.

Of course, the Telluride is improved in every area, so higher prices were expected. The new 2.5L engine makes 311 lb-ft of torque, which is 49 lb-ft more than the older V6. Cargo and seating space in the back are better, and there are more premium finishes than before.

Barely Cheaper Than Hyundai Palisade V6

Hyundai

The Hyundai Palisade also entered its second generation recently. At $39,435, its base price is a few hundred bucks more than the Kia’s. The Hyundai is cheaper at the top end, though, with its luxurious Calligraphy trim costing $54,560 and its rugged XRT Pro going for $49,870.

Unlike the Kia, the Palisade still comes with a standard V6. It produces 287 hp and 260 lb-ft. Although the Kia has a lot more torque, some buyers may still prefer the smoothness of a V6.

Both vehicles are available with hybrid powertrains producing 329 hp combined. Kia says the Telluride Hybrid’s price will only be announced closer to that model’s on-sale date later this quarter. However, the Palisade Hybrid starts at $44,160, so we can expect the Kia to start at a similar price point.

Final Thoughts

Although the 2027 Kia Telluride is more expensive than before, we don’t expect it to be a dealbreaker. It’s still a sub-$40k crossover for now, if you exclude the destination charge, and Kia has the three-row Sorento for those on a tighter budget, anyway.

What will be interesting to see is if buyers embrace the new turbo-four engine, given that there are cheaper six-cylinder alternatives like the Mazda CX-90 (starts at $38,800). The Palisade costs pretty much the same with its V6. Then again, the best-selling three-row crossover in America last year was the Ford Explorer, and that has a standard four-pot, so perhaps Kia doesn’t have much to worry about.
