BMW has teased the final model to come from Alpina as a separate tuner, and we know what it is. The single shadowy image provided is a new X7-based Alpina XB7, and it will come into the light this Friday at the 31st Amelia Concours d'Elegance. BMW says the limited-production luxury SUV will be offered exclusively to the United States and Canada markets, and it's expected to be very similar to the existing XB7, revealed back in 2024, which boasts a 4.4-liter twin-turbo V8 with 613 horsepower and 590 lb-ft of torque. How many examples will be built, what options will be offered, and what the new XB7 will cost are details yet to be revealed, but we can expect it to be priced somewhere north of the current XB7's $156,000 starting price.
BMW Celebrating 40 Years of M3 at Amelia Island
Along with the reveal of the new Alpina—which Autocar reports was approved and developed by the company's founding Bovensiepen family before BMW took over on January 1—BMW will also be showing off a selection of M3 models to celebrate 40 years of the nameplate. These will include an E30 Sport Evolution, an E36 M3 Lightweight, an E46 M3 coupe, an E92 M3 Lime Rock Park Edition, an F82 M4 GTS, and a manual G8X; BMW didn't specify whether it would display an M4 coupe or an M3 sedan. The automaker did confirm that the show car wears BMW Individual Laguna Seca Blue paint, though the image it provided shows an M3 in Isle of Man Green.
We suspect that this is just the start of the M3 festivities, with more to come before 2026 comes to a close. This will likely include some sort of special edition, perhaps an M3 40 Jahre. Thereafter, the first-ever hybrid M3 will arrive, followed by the first-ever all-electric M3. Celebrating the M3 while also revealing the last Alpina model before it becomes a standalone brand under the BMW Group banner will help show the link between past and present, and it won't be long before we see what the future holds for the Alpina name.

New Look and Feel for a Reinvented Alpina
BMW Alpina has already revealed its new wordmark and its new emblem, but nothing concrete has come to light regarding what the brand's first vehicle under the new structure will be. Some reports have indicated that an Alpina take on the 7 Series luxury limo is coming, while others have suggested that the slow-selling XM SUV could be reimagined, potentially adopting the X8 or XB8 name. What we know for sure is that BMW will maintain a link with the past while modernizing the brand, as its first teaser for a new wheel design indicates. Hopefully, BMW Alpina will share more details on its future on Friday.
