Brand New TREMEC TKX Stuck In Gear? Let’s Fix It. How To Align Shift Rail Lugs For Smooth Shifting.

(0 reviews)

When you’ve installed a brand new TREMEC TKX transmission, only to find that the thing doesn’t want to shift, you are naturally going to be disappointed and mad. But IF this happens to your TKX it isn’t the end of the world, and takes just a few minutes to fix before you install it. So you should check your freshly delivered TKX before you assemble your American Powertrain Kit and install it. Check out the video below to see just how easy this is to do at home.

Video Description:

Got a new TREMEC TKX 5-Speed and it seems like it is stuck in gear? It’s an easy fix!

What is happening and why is it stuck?

TREMEC ships these TKX transmissions in neutral. What can happen is that these transmissions can get bounced around in the delivery truck. If they get bounced around too hard, the shift rails can get knocked out of alignment. Not to worry its easy to fix (if it’s out of the car). We recommend to all our customers to make sure the transmission shifts before you install it in your car. This is a lot easier to fix now than after it’s installed.
