Bugatti Built a Bicycle That Costs More Than a Toyota Corolla

Bugatti doesn't make the fastest car in the world anymore. Therefore, they have expanded beyond four wheels and into elite cycling with the Bugatti Factor ONE. Developed with Factor Bikes, the project applies hypercar engineering principles to create what the brand claims to be the fastest UCI-legal bicycle in the world. Limited to 250 units and priced at $23,599, the Type 35-inspired bike is even rarer than a Bugatti Chiron. Bugatti is not a stranger to rare passion projects. From one-off commissions to reimagined icons, the French hypercar brand has always explored beyond convention. A bicycle, it seems, was only a matter of time.

The Fastest Bicycle Ever Made

The Factor ONE leans heavily into Bugatti’s obsession with performance. Factor, founded by Rob Gitelis, usually develops its bikes in-house, but with help from Bugatti, it managed to innovate like never before. The UCI-legal design features a widened fork shaped to improve airflow and reduce drag at the leading edge. That works alongside a fully integrated cockpit and frame to maximise efficiency. According to Gitelis, “This project challenged us to rethink every assumption,” which explains why the final product looks so unconventional. Supporting that is the Black Inc Bugatti Hyper 62 wheelset wrapped in Bugatti Continental Grand Prix 5000 TT tyres with a French Racing Blue sidewall. The 62 mm carbon rims weigh just 1.298 grams (less than 3 pounds) per pair, and are tuned for stiffness, power transfer, and crosswind stability. In essence, it's the cycling equivalent of lightweight forged hypercar wheels.

Design Rooted In Bugatti History

Apart from the bright white BUGATTI logo on its side, the Factor ONE features many other Bugatti-exclusive design queues. From the two-tone split, Bugatti Blue accents, and the “Dancing Elephant” emblem, each trait references some of the most important Bugattis ever made. Even the smaller details, like its exposed 3K twill carbon weave, carbon brake rotors, follow the same lineage. Even the Alcantara-wrapped carbon fiber saddle reflects what you'd typically find in a Bugatti Tourbillon's interior.

Collector’s Piece First, Bicycle Second

While it's evident that the Bugatti Factor ONE bike will be a very capable racing bike, it'll also serve as a collector’s piece. Unfortunately, much like limited-run Bugattis, many will likely spend more time on display than on the road. Despite one of these "hyper bicycles" costing more than a brand new Toyota Corolla, we reckon they'll sell like hotcakes, and most of them will find a home in a lavish Bugatti collection.
