Buying a Brand New 1989 Camaro in 2025: Fluffy’s “New” IROC-Z Is Getting Driven On Jay Leno’s Garage

(0 reviews)

We have some friends with crazy, crazy, crazy low mileage muscle cars and classics, so we know they exist, but it still blows my mind when I see one. In the video below you’ll see Fluffy and Leno taking a look at, and cruising in, Fluffy’s 1989 Camaro IROC-Z. It’s cool on its own, but when you realize this sucker only has 400 miles on it. That’s not going to stop Leno from putting more on it of course, but it’s pretty cool that it is basically a new car. I approve.

Video Description:

Jay Leno welcomes the “IROC of Comedy,” Gabriel Iglesias, back to the garage to show off an absolute time capsule: a 100% original 1989 Chevrolet Camaro IROC-Z with only 400 miles on the odometer!

Gabriel found this “deleted” model—so named because it lacks the typical IROC door decals—on Bring a Trailer. Originally sold in Ohio and kept in a climate-controlled collection for decades, this clay-colored beauty still looks and smells like it just rolled off the showroom floor.

In this episode, Jay and Gabriel discuss:

The Time Capsule: Why this specific car stayed in a dealership and private collection for 36 years without being driven.

Technical Specs: The 5.7L 350 V8 engine and why the window sticker mistakenly says “manual” when the car is an automatic.

The “Deleted” Look: Why Gabriel prefers the cleaner look without the massive IROC-Z side stickers.

Preservation vs. Driving: Gabriel’s philosophy on why he refuses to let a low-mileage car just sit in a garage.

Comedy Legends: The duo talks shop about the road, life as a comedian, and why Jay used to overhear his parents worrying about his future.

Watch as Jay and Fluffy “break the seal” on this 215-horsepower icon and take it for a spin through the streets of California!
