Monster Trucks are awesome machines, and the things they are capable of doing are mind boggling at times. But as fast, and crazy, and high flying as they are, top speed is not the thing you think of when you think Monster Trucks. No, you think jumps and slap wheelies and back flips, hell even front flips, but even the famed Cyclones that they do in them aren’t all that fast. So when you see one go out and try to set a new world speed record for a monster truck, it is kind of special.
I can tell you that last year at Moparty in Bowling Green Kentucky we had every intention of setting a new Monster Truck ET and speed record on the dragstrip, but the horsepower gods had other ideas. Regardless, it was impressive as hell to see this thing leave the starting line and carry the front wheels a bit. I was impressed for sure.
But seeing on scream, and I mean scream, down the straight at Indianapolis Motor Speedway was something else. You have to see this record setting run. I can’t believe it went this straight!
