DIY LED Tail Light Conversion: Wally Is Converting his 1972 Ford Maverick Tail Lights to LED For Cheap! Will Work On Lots Of Classics!

(0 reviews)

There are a lot of LED tail light and marker light options around now for all the most popular hot rods and muscle cars, but some of them are not cheap. Others are cheap, and they feel like it and operate like it. Sure, you can spend big money on the fancy billet options, but if you are on a budget then some of the cheap options are more trouble than they might be worth. And the performance on the plug in replacement LED bulbs can really be hit or miss, so that doesn’t feel great either. But what about utilizing a bit of your DIY prowess AND some super simple but functional LED tail lights to make your own custom kit for your car?

About 12 years ago I did a similar install to this one on our vintage RV trailer, where I purchased brand new RV LED tail, turn and stop lights and relocated their guts into the original tail light housings so that nothing looked changed but the trailer lit up much nicer when going down the road. In this video, Wally is doing the same thing and while he’s doing it to his cool little Maverick project, I think you could retrofit a lot of other tail lights the same way.

Check out the video below, and let us know what you think.
