DIY Tool Restoration: Restoring a Vintage Hydraulic Jack that survived a Fire! Jacks Are Simple, Right?

(0 reviews)

I love it when you can restore an old tool. Anything that still serves a purpose and can be useful in the shop or garage is always good, and sometimes these small projects are just what you need to get a break from your bigger projects. So when Brent at Half Ass Kustoms put out this new video of him restoring an old long reach, high lift, floor jack that had sort of survived the shop fire he had in 2024, I knew I was going to dig it. It sort of worked after the fire, but jacks that sort of work are the worst kind of jacks. I know from experience, and I’m assuming some of you do too.

So check out the restoration video and let us know what you think. I’ve got an old jack or two that are going to need some love before too long, so maybe this is the inspiration I need.

Video Description:

In this video we restore a high lift jack that survived the fire. You can’t buy them anymore so we’re bringing this one back to life!
