In celebration of America’s 250th anniversary, Dodge has unveiled a special edition of the Durango known as the GT America250 (A250) Edition. Already the leading three-row SUV for sheer muscle—the Durango is the cheapest V8 SUV you can buy—the new A250 is available in V6 and V8 variants, while adding a host of patriotic visual flourishes. It aligns well with the automaker’s desire to lean into high-horsepower performance and its status as one of America’s oldest car brands.

High-End Exterior and Interior Finishes

The new A250 is the first production model to be shown to the public as part of Stellantis’ partnership with America250, a nonpartisan organization that will lead the commemoration of the signing of the Declaration of Independence.
The new SUV features star-pattern dual stripes with blue tracer accents on its exterior; these U.S.-inspired stripes are only compatible with the White Knuckle exterior color. There are America250 fender decals and badging, and the special model sits on aggressive-looking 20-inch wheels with a Black Noise finish.

Inside, there are material upgrades typically found on pricier trims. These include Black Laguna leather upholstery with a blue perforation and an embossed flag on the seats. Accent stitching in red and white, along with a tricolor-stitched steering wheel, are also unique to this Durango anniversary model. The finishing touches include Demonic Red seat belts and forged carbon-fiber appliques.

Today, we celebrate that legacy and the road ahead.”
Three Trim Levels and Two Engine Choices
Stellantis
The Dodge Durango GT A250 is available in three trim levels:
- Durango GT Plus AWD
- Durango GT Hemi Plus AWD
- Durango GT Hemi Premium AWD
The GT Plus uses the 3.6-liter Pentastar V6, which makes 295 horsepower and 260 lb-ft of torque. On the Hemi models, the iconic 5.7-liter V8 with 360 hp and 390 lb-ft replaces the V6. Both engines are paired to an eight-speed automatic transmission. The Premium model adds extras like a Dinamica suede headliner, a hand-wrapped instrument panel, and a 19-speaker Harman Kardon sound system to the Plus model’s specification.
Pricing for the A250 will start at $49,590 for the V6, increasing to $51,270 for the Hemi Plus A250 and $54,270 for the Hemi Premium A250. Orders for all three models open in early April.

The new Dodge Durangos may be little more than visual packages, but these models typically only hang around for a single model year, so have an exclusive edge in the used market. These America-inspired special editions also provide something a little more emotional than rational, keeping the Durango relevant in a market dominated by competent but often forgettable vehicles. Dodge’s SUV already had its best sales in 20 years in 2025, and exclusive additions like the A250 should keep fans coming back for more until an all-new generation of the model arrives.
