EV Drivers Finally Get a Proper Nürburgring Setup

Hyundai has installed 400 kW N Hyper Chargers at the entrance of the Nürburgring Tourist Drive. After its inauguration last year, Hyundai intends to remove the biggest barrier to EV track driving. Drivers can now charge right before entering the circuit, making the experience far more seamless.

This is a major shift for electric performance cars. EVs have already proven their pace, with several models ranking among the fastest to lap the Nürburgring. The problem has always been what happens after a lap. Limited charging options forced drivers to cut sessions short or leave the track entirely.

Fast Charging That Matches Track Pace

The N Hyper Chargers deliver up to 400 kW DC fast charging and can support multiple vehicles at once. Under ideal conditions, Hyundai’s E-GMP-based cars can go from 10 to 80 percent in around 18 minutes. That aligns closely with a typical cooldown window between laps.

This allows EV drivers to run multiple sessions without major interruptions. Charge, drive, repeat. It is a workflow that brings EV track use closer to what combustion drivers have long enjoyed. The difference now is that the infrastructure supports the performance.

Even so, the conversation around EV performance remains active. While electric hypercars continue to chase Nürburgring records, some still fall short of top combustion benchmarks. The focus is shifting. It is no longer just about outright speed, but how consistently that speed can be delivered over multiple laps.

Open Access With Added Perks for Hyundai N Owners

The chargers are not exclusive to Hyundai. Any EV can use them, which improves accessibility for all drivers visiting the Nürburgring. The process is straightforward. Pull in, plug in, and charge using standard payment or supported charging apps.

Hyundai owners get a more integrated experience. Drivers of models like the IONIQ 5 N can use the Charge myHyundai app for easier access. Hyundai has also introduced incentives such as complimentary charging during promotional periods, reducing the cost of repeated track sessions.

This move highlights a broader shift in vv11performance EV ownership. The car is only part of the equation. Infrastructure now plays a critical role in the overall experience. With fast, accessible charging at the Nürburgring entrance, EV drivers finally have something to look forward to when planning a day at the track.
