Only a Matter of Time The Audi Q9 is no secret. Several spy shots of the large SUV have been published, and the company said it's coming any time this year. After seeing its rivals own the full-size, three-row luxury crossover space for years, the folks from Ingolstadt reckon it's their turn to make a big impression on that segment. Its main rivals are none other than the BMW X7, which is due for a redesign, and the Mercedes-Benz GLS that was just given a facelift. Audi is determined to give its

Moab, Jeep, and a Different Kind of Build If there’s a place that defines off-roading culture in the US, it’s Moab in Utah. The red rock terrain, steep climbs, and technical trails have made it a go-to destination for rock-crawlers for decades. It’s also where the Easter Jeep Safari takes place, drawing enthusiasts and factory-backed builds every year. And if there’s a brand closely tied to that scene, it’s Jeep. The brand regularly uses the event as a showcase, recently rolling out a batch of c

The Jeep Gladiator midsize pickup is many things: a capable off-roader, an adventure truck, a convertible pickup, and even a work truck, given that it has a sturdy ladder-frame chassis. Now, if you’re really serious about using the Gladiator as a work truck, the 5-foot cargo bed is an inconvenient, as it’s small compared to many midsize trucks and often requires carrying larger items with the tailgate down. But if you insist on using your Gladiator as a work truck—and many people do mostly in of

Junkyard Datsun Meets Viper V10 Back-from-the-brink stories are always interesting. Whether it's a long story of a man and his car over the years, or a fast scramble to be able to make it to a show, it's always a good time. Brad Builds had to do the latter. He took 60 days to build this Datsun 240Z for SEMA 2026. That's less than 10 weeks from rusting to rolling into the show. The chassis was bought from a junkyard in 2021, about five years ago, seemingly destined to rot and already stripped of

I’m not a bead roller, but I sure would like to be! This is the kind of kit you can get that will give you everything you need to be ready to start creating things for your own projects. I find myself watching a lot of metal shaping videos, including bead rolling, and there is no limit to the creativity you can show with some practice. I am blown away by the sheet metal door panels, seats, and trim that you can make with a bead roller, but you can also use them to create bodylines and more. Chec

Two is Better Than One The classic car market is enjoying a healthy boom; it seems people are seeking out and spending big money on these select models rather than buying more watches or investing in art. It has become a somewhat smart investment to go all-in on a classic now and watch the value steadily rise over the years. Individual models as rare as a Lamborghini Countach or a classic Lotus Formula 1 car fetch decent money these days, but imagine selling both as a package? Imagine also that

The Lamborghini Urus SE plug-in hybrid super SUV starts at around $263,000, making it one of the most expensive SUVs on sale in America. Obviously, very few Urus vehicles are sold in base configuration, as most customers add tens of thousands of dollars in available options, frequently bumping the price to $300,000-$400,000. But what if you’re not satisfied with the extras Lamborghini has to offer? That's what the aftermarket is for, and UK-based firm Urban Automotive has got your back with the

Before Crossovers Took Over While Mitsubishi today focuses on vehicles suited for daily driving, the Japanese marque was once a championship-winning force in the world of rally racing. Perhaps the model that best represents that era is the Lancer Evolution VI, and one is currently up for grabs on Cars & Bids. The Lancer Evo VI is the final generation of the Evolution lineup to be homologated under Group A regulations, before the more flexible WRC rules took over in 2001. That shift gave rise

This Is Not Your Typical IS 350 It looked like the Lexus IS was on its way out, but Lexus decided to give it one more shot. The latest update isn’t a total overhaul. Think of it as a tune-up: sharper styling, improved tech, and a few tweaks to the chassis to keep it in the game. Underneath, though, it’s still the same platform that’s been around for over ten years. Now, Lexus is trying something new – moving the IS into the world of art and culture. This latest project puts the IS in front of pe

This EV Roadster Targets Hardcore Drivers As electric vehicles become increasingly defined by large touchscreens, advanced driver aids, and software-led experiences, the SC01 is taking a very different approach. The 429hp Chinese electric roadster has been confirmed for Europe in a limited run of 1,000 units, and it arrives with a clear focus on driving rather than digital features. That approach places the SC01 at odds with long-held views from some of the industry’s most influential figures. T

Some cherished objects are symbolic of the people we know and love Throughout our interconnected lives, there are certain objects that become inseparable from the people we love. Maybe it’s your grandfather’s cool leather jacket, your mom’s favorite coffee mug, or a sport coat with a distinctive pattern that someone wore so often, it became part of their identity. These items carry memories, and when we see them, we’re transported back to moments spent with those who mattered most. They’re more

What Is a Hongqi? Unless you're following the Chinese auto industry or deep into the rabbit hole of its history, Hongqi (pronounced hong-chi) is a brand that isn't really heard of outside of China. It's long been the country's premier luxury automaker and also its oldest automaker. Think of it as China's Cadillac or Lincoln, and its classic models certainly reflected that. Hongqi used to be reserved for China's elite, whether in government or in any positions of power. It's a little different no

One Careful Owner The older the car, the harder it is to find one that's had one owner since new. But that's exactly what this 1973.5 Porsche 911T is, and it's currently up for sale. Listed by Garage Kept Motors, it's been with the same owner for over 50 years since it was purchased new at Tom Sullivan Porsche in Birmingham, Michigan. Over the years, the car was left unmodified and preserved caringly, keeping it as factory fresh as possible and having only done 59,368 miles since it rolled off t

The Ferrari 458 has become one of the most desirable modern Ferraris, especially in Spider form, which is roughly twice as rare as the coupe. A low-mileage example currently being auctioned on Bring a Trailershows just how quickly demand is rising. As the final naturally aspirated V8 Ferrari and one of the last models designed by Pininfarina, the 458 marks the end of what many enthusiasts see as Ferrari’s golden era. This particular 2015 car, the final model year of production, has covered just

Video Games Shaping Reality Gaming has clearly influenced the modern automotive scene. For instance, William Byron, who got his start in sim racing on iRacing, has since risen to the top of NASCAR and is now a two-time Daytona 500 champion. That influence, however, isn’t limited to motorsports. French luxury marque DS Automobiles has just unveiled the Taylor Made N°4 Concept, a design study that draws heavily from the aesthetics and culture of video games. For context, DS Automobiles is a Stella

Although we saw many tastefully and not-so-tastefully done builds at this year’s Tokyo Auto Salon, we never assumed someone would turn up in an Alphard minivan straight out of a Mad Max movie. The family hauler in question looks to be a third-generation model that's now fitted with TRD skid plates and beadlock rims. What was once an unassuming minivan is dialed up to eleven with tons of off-road hardware, albeit neatly presented.

Larry Chen Meets the Rowdiest Mustang Yet Larry Chen doesn’t mince words in his latest upload. This is not just another tuned S650. According to Chen, it is the rowdiest manual Mustang he has ever driven, and that includes a career behind the wheel of everything from front-wheel-drive hot hatches to V12 exotics. What defines the experience is not outright speed, but traction. Or rather, the lack of it. The RTR Mustang Spec 5 represents the apex of owner, Vaughn Gittin Jr.’s Mustang program for t

The perfect two-car garage typically combines a versatile daily driver with a more performance-oriented car for weekends. These two cars ordinarily have little in common, as they serve entirely different purposes. However, one enthusiast who owns a BMW M3 Touring and a Porsche 911 (997.2) Targa 4S took things a step further by commissioning his BMW to perfectly match the Porsche’s spec. The result is one of the most spectacular and unexpected two-car pairings we’ve come across. Two Fast Germans

A large part of what makes a Miata so special is Mazda’s dogged resistance to overkill. Decades later, today’s ND is still a small, athletic sports car with a modest four-cylinder mill. But it’s hard not to imagine what the MX-5 would be like with serious power. Well, we need not imagine any longer, as a company named Rocketeer from England has found a way to squeeze a 3.0-liter V6 into the engine bay of the tiny Miata NA, and the performance boost is also being applied to other generations of t

Mazda has built some of the most driver-focused sports cars the world has ever known, from the lightweight MX-5 Miata to the iconic, rotary-powered RX-7. But a recent Cars and Bids auction shows just how far the nostalgia tax has spiraled out of control. A 1997 Mazda RX-7 Type RS-R 30th Anniversary Edition attracted a top bid of $40,500 on Cars and Bids, yet still failed to meet its reserve. Even at that level, it would have traded above the model’s historical norm. Once upon a time, ’90s JDM sp

The Dodge Viper has never been a subtle car, but this particular example takes its in-your-face character to another level. Currently listed on Cars and Bids with no reserve, this 1996 Dodge Viper RT/10 is one of just 166 finished in the infamous “Ketchup and Mustard” color scheme, showing fewer than 26,000 miles. Yes, it is bright red. Yes, it has yellow wheels. And yes, it looks like something Ronald McDonald would drive if he decided supercars were more his thing. It reminds us of the Bachman

What if you could live inside a Mercedes-Benz? Not a status-symbol sedan or a lavish SUV, but a commercial van. Based in California, Vanspeed has reimagined the Mercedes-Benz Sprinter into what it calls the Album. Sitting much higher than the more lifestyle-focused Mercedes-Benz VLE in the lineup, the Sprinter is the brand’s big, utilitarian workhorse. While plenty of builders have turned Sprinters into camper vans, few come close to what Vanspeed has done here. Flexible Design That Actually Wor

A few months ago, Porsche revealed the 992.2 911 Turbo S with a staggering 701 hp, and as always, certain styling cues that differentiate it from a regular 911. But what if you don't want that much power and that much attention? Well, it seems that Stuttgart is about to have you covered, as spy shots of a new prototype on the Nürburgring hint at the first 911 Turbo Touring. The development mule has a deployable rear spoiler rather than the fixed wing found on the regular GT3 and Turbo models, he

I own just two vehicles that are not Chevrolets, and those two are both Japanese imports. They are my 1985 Mitsubishi Mighty Max and my 1994 Honda Civic Hatchback. And while my plan is to build the Mighty Max into the mini truck I wish I could have built as a kid, the Honda has more sedate aspirations. It’s an EG Hatch, which makes it very desirable obviously, but it’s also a VX which was Honda’s hmileage model and that means I’m not doing anything to it but cleaning it up and making it look nic
