Assisted Intelligence The AI craze has defined the past few years for humankind. From a world that seemingly lived and even thrived without it, we have suddenly integrated it into our lives as a necessity. AI has empowered our smart devices, our cars, and our lives in many ways, creating and in some cases shifting reality. While there are valid reasons to be skeptical or wary of AI, some of its applications are helpful. Most major companies across all industries have incorporated AI in one way

The Electric Truck Slowdown Continues Detroit’s electric truck push is running out of steam. Ford’s F-150 Lightning took a back seat to hybrids last year, and Ram’s 1500 BEV never even made it to showrooms. Now GM is following suit, though not pulling the plug entirely. According to reports, GM has put its next wave of full-size electric trucks on indefinite hold. These were supposed to be the more budget-friendly, updated EV pickups and SUVs. The original 2028 launch window is out the window, a

There's something wrong with several General Motors crossovers, and the automaker seems unsure of how to fix the issue. Customers have been complaining of a "Service All Wheel Drive" or "Service 4WD" message appearing on the driver displays of Chevrolet Traverse, GMC Acadia, and Buick Enclave crossovers, and according to January service bulletin PIT6479, technicians have been instructed to disconnect the battery for a period and then restart the affected vehicle before returning it to the custom

Two-thirds of Detroit's Big Three have just learned the hard way that over-investing in electric vehicle technology before the market is ripe for selling them — albeit in a bid to get a jump on the competition — is a multi-billion-dollar mistake. After Ford announced a whopping $5.1 billion loss from its EV business alone in 2024, General Motors has posted even worse figures, with the automaker expecting to "take a $6 billion hit as a result of its stalled electric vehicle transition," reports t

That Escalated Quickly General Motors’ 2.0-liter LSY turbocharged inline-four is still a relatively new engine, so widespread long-term issues remain unclear. However, the example from a 2021 Buick Envision acquired by Eric from I Do Cars wasn’t as fortunate. Despite showing just 24,491 miles on the odometer, this particular LSY had already been sold as a core. The LSY is produced at GM’s Spring Hill plant in Tennessee, while the Buick Envision itself is assembled in China through the GM-SAIC jo

The L87 Recall Drama So Far GM's current 6.2-liter V8 made headlines for all the wrong reasons in 2025. Internally known as the L87, it's been slapped with recalls and lawsuits since April of last year. The reason? It's mainly due to manufacturing defects in connecting rods and crankshafts. It would fail without warning, and there are some cases wherein it would blow up with very low miles. With over 1,000 complaints, GM is now facing multiple class-action lawsuits over the L87 engine. The compa

The EV market has taken a dive since federal tax credits were phased out last September. But General Motors Chairman and CEO Mary Barra remains optimistic it’s only a matter of time until demand rebounds. Eventually, “people will choose (EVs) because they’re better vehicles,” she said during a meeting of the Automotive Press Association at GM’s new Detroit headquarters on Monday. Barra said her company has to respond to the slowdown in EV sales by directing more investment dollars into internal

General Motors made the bold decision to introduce a 2.7-liter four-cylinder turbocharged engine in the full-size Chevy Silverado 1500 and GMC Sierra 1500 several years ago. Initially known as the L3B, it was renamed ‘TurboMax’ for the 2024 model year and is the only standard four-cylinder mill in a pickup of this size. Already impressive for its mix of high torque and reasonable economy, the four-cylinder TurboMax engine is set to get a boost in power and torque for the 2027 models of these GM

General Motors insists it still believes in an electric future, but its latest letter to shareholders tells a different story. After publishing its full-year results, the automaker confirmed it will significantly cut EV production in 2026, despite electric vehicles bringing nearly 100,000 new customers to the brand last year. They blame their losses on an abundant amount of "EV-related charges", but most of them were self-inflicted. The High “Cost” of EVs That GM Created Itself

Streamlining the Showroom Supply A report from GM Authority states that General Motors is currently testing a new dealer ordering program called CoreBuild. The beta program streamlines the ordering process for dealerships by focusing on the most popular vehicle configurations, helping align supply more closely with demand. While the program is exclusive to GM dealers, it could also offer benefits to car buyers. For instance, increased availability of popular configurations may result in more in-

The GM L87 engine recall that has affected almost 600,000 full-size trucks and SUVs in the U.S. and has led to multiple lawsuits that recently merged into a class action suit has reached a new chapter. The automaker has reportedly instructed its dealers to use Mobil 1 FS 0W-40 engine oil on the naturally aspirated 6.2-liter V8 (L87) gas engines that were inspected as part of the recall but not replaced. GM Authority reports that a series of new GM service bulletins (25-NA-339, N252494000-10 and

GM Faces Unified Legal Battle General Motors faces mounting legal pressure over its 6.2-liter V8 L87 engine troubles. The issue was first brought to federal regulators' attention by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) after receiving over 1,000 consumer complaints about the engine failure. The NHTSA began investigating the issue, which led to GM announcing a recall of almost 600,000 trucks and SUVs in April 2025 due to the failures of the engine's crankshaft, bearings, and

Body-On-Frame SUV Resurgence, Anyone? Before crossovers, midsize SUVs were based on pickups with ladder-frame chassis. A whole load of those popped up in the '80s and '90s, and prime examples include the Toyota 4Runner, Nissan Pathfinder, Ford Bronco II and Explorer, and the GM twins of Chevrolet S-10 Blazer and GMC S-15 Jimmy. Today, only the 4Runner remains true to the tried-and-tested formula in the U.S., as all of its original rivals have shifted to more car-like platforms. However, there's

Winding Down Whenever a new generation model is announced and about to enter the market, it is only natural that the current model on sale be gradually phased out. Slowly is the key word here, because while most people will wait for the new model, some don't mind and need a car right now. Plus, it makes no sense for the brand to kill off the model completely and lose potential sales while waiting for the launch of the new car. GMC is doing just that with its pickup, the Sierra 1500.

Inverting the field always makes for fun side by side racing action, great passing, and invariably some drama. It also can cause some carnage if the drivers in the rear of the pack, who qualified better than the rest of the field, get impatient and tear things up on their way toward the front. In the video below you are going to see one of the most iconic muscle cars ever to turn corners, the famed Boss 302 Ford Mustang, reeling in the rest of the field after an inverted start. New AI Assistant in Town It comes as no surprise that Google Maps remains the go-to navigation app for many users, including those on Apple devices. The app is widely viewed as the more capable option thanks to its data-rich navigation experience, though Apple Maps has made significant improvements in recent years. Unless you recently bought a new air compessor, you are probably like most of us and own at least one that is old. It might still work perfectly fine, but unless you have a super fancy setup you probably don’t have some of the higher end features like a dryer, muffler, and more. And it is all DIY so you can do the same thing on your own compressor at home. And to be fair, you don’t need an old compressor for these mods either. If you have a newer compressor that just doesn’t have these features,

Diesel’s Place in Today’s Market While diesel-powered passenger vehicles are increasingly limited in the U.S., they remain vital, especially for those in the agriculture industry, thanks to their superior low-end torque, which improves payload and towing capacities. One long-standing issue, however, is the mandated Diesel Exhaust Fluid (DEF) system, which helps reduce emissions but has cost owners in repairs and, for workhorse applications, lost productivity. Now, the U.S. Environmental Protecti
