The Minivan America Can’t Have (Yet) The Mitsubishi Delica D:5 is forbidden fruit in America and most of the world. On the surface, it’s a straightforward minivan with sliding doors and actual space for people. Underneath, though, it’s built with hardware that puts many soft-road SUVs to shame: four-wheel drive, off-road modes, and even locking differentials. It’s an example showing that you don’t need a bulky crossover to get your family out of the city and onto rougher ground. That approach st

Off-Road Ready, Right From the Factory The sixth-generation Mitsubishi Triton made its world debut in 2023, and entered the Brazilian market last year. Now, for 2025, Mitsubishi have introduced a limited-run Savana edition, that takes the popular pickup’s ruggedness to the next level with a host of factory-fitted adventure-oriented equipment.  What Is It? To create the Savana, Mit

The Final Evo It was a sad day for enthusiasts when Mitsubishi discontinued the Lancer Evolution, and it was even sadder when the automaker announced it would focus only on crossovers and more practical pursuits. The dream may still be alive, but the Japanese automaker hasn't been making any announcements, at least not yet. It's been more than a decade since the last Lancer Evolution rolled off American showrooms, and prices for the rally-bred sedan have noticeably increased. Chalk it up to nos

Mitsubishi’s Flagship Teases Its Return The Mitsubishi Pajero name still means something to many people. Also called the Montero or Shogun, depending on where you’re reading this from, the brand’s flagship SUV quietly ended production in 2021. Since then, Mitsubishi has said a new large SUV is coming, but hasn’t shared much beyond that. That’s why Mitsubishi’s latest corporate video stands out. Released on New Year's Day, there’s a quick shot of what appears to be the next flagship SUV near the

Market Shifts Spare No One The industry has been shaken by shifting market conditions this year, significantly affecting EV brands like Tesla. Yet despite not selling battery electric vehicles (BEVs) – at least as of this writing – Mitsubishi still posted a 13.7 percent decline in its 2025 sales in the U.S., delivering 94,754 vehicles overall. Mitsubishi’s most popular model, the Outlander, also experienced a noticeable dip. The SUV sold 35,895 units last year, marking a decline of 9,358 vehicle

Tech YouTuber Marques Brownlee has spent plenty of time with American and European EVs, but his latest deep dive focuses on something U.S. buyers cannot get: the Xiaomi SU7 Max. The sleek Chinese electric sedan costs the equivalent of about $42,000 in its home market, yet Brownlee says it feels like a $75,000-plus car in terms of performance, software, and interior quality. His conclusion is clear. On product alone, a car like this would put serious pressure on a lot of mainstream and premium E

A new AAA survey, polling over 1,000 adults across the country, has found that six in ten American drivers say headlight glare is a genuine problem after dark. More striking is what those affected drivers said about the trajectory of the issue. Three in four believe the problem has gotten noticeably worse over the past decade. Frustration with modern vehicle lighting has been building steadily, and it puts real numbers behind something millions of people feel every time they drive at night.

Porsche 911 fans were shocked in the 1990s when the 996-generation of the iconic sports car arrived, primarily because of its controversial design. The contentiousness centered around the 996’s headlights, which deviated from the classic rounded style with what became known as the “fried egg” headlight design. An independent designer from Simas Design Studio has now envisioned what a 996-inspired design would look like if applied to a modern 911. It’s a question nobody asked, but the final resul

Not so long ago, restomods were almost exclusively reserved for big dollar classics and vintage supercars. But exclusivity no more, just in the last couple of years we’ve seen the JDM space sprout a few of its own resto-mods; the Built By Legends GT-Rs and TOM’S’ Supra just to name a few. That’s where the Prodrive P25 […] The post Modernising A WRC Legend: The Prodrive P25 appeared first on Speedhunters. View the full article

The Mooneyes Christmas Party is always one of our favorite events of the year, and I really do miss it now that I live in Texas. It was one of those annual shows that we really looked forward to each year. It was at Irwindale Speedway for many years, and was limited in size because of it, but now that it has moved to Pomona there is a lot more room which means even more hot rods, race cars, and customs. Plus lots of bikes, models, and vendors as well. It was one of our favorite places to Christm

Every year without fail, Mopar releases a selection of festive-themed gifts for the automotive enthusiast. In keeping with the Christmas theme, these gifts will include things like socks and sweaters, but while those items are available again this year, Mopar has also provided apparel for the off-roader with what it calls "Ugly Sweater" trail armor, sold by MEK Magnet. This is only available for the current-gen Jeep Wrangler four-door and allows buyers to turn their SUVs into holiday-themed mach

Dulcich and Freiburger are putting the band back together for this one, although the reality is that these two have been doing this together long before anyone pointed a video camera at them. I’m still glad they are doing it though, and appreciate this project especially. I’m a Chevrolet guy to the core, but this Duster right here really does it for me. The stance, the wheel and tire combo, all of it. What do you think? Is this one better since Dulcich and Freiburger got a hold of it? Video Des

In 2025, with more information available to us than ever in history, it has become harder and harder to differentiate good information from bad. The truth is that most of it is our own fault because for some reason, in 2025, we have decided that believing experts is so 2019 and instead we’ll trust some random dude on Facebook. Lake Speed Jr, the Motor Oil Geek, is no random dude on Facebook. He’s developed some of the top performing oils in our industry, is more knowledgeable on what is going on

Well, we thought that the news about Heartland Park Topeka would be the last big IHRA announcement of 2025, but they squeaked another one in under the wire with a New Year’s Eve announcement that they have also just bought Rockingham Speedway! “The Rock” has been a huge part of American oval track racing and is one of the most iconic tracks in North Carolina, and that’s saying something. So what does this purchase mean? Read the full announcement below to see what IHRA and Rockingham Speedway ha

Mazda’s Volume Player Gets a Boost The Mazda CX-5 is the brand’s best-selling model in the current lineup, though that isn’t as strongly felt in the U.S., where buyers continue to favor nameplates like the Ford F-150 and Toyota RAV4. For the 2026 model year, however, the Japanese marque introduced a long-awaited update to its compact crossover after nearly a decade, which may have helped it attract more shoppers. According to Consumer Reports, the CX-5 has been the most popular model among shopp

Missing Them Until They're Gone The BMW Z4 is one of the longest-standing cars in the Bavarian automaker's lineup, replacing the Z3 and continuing the roadster option for those who want the open-air BMW experience. While it has always been a solid seller, the times have changed against the Z4, and BMW is going to kill it off for now. When manufacturers announce that a car will be killed off, depending on the car, people will either not care or will flock to the dealers to get their hands on one

We took a break from off season race car upgrades and maintenance, and made trip to Lebanon, Pennsylvania to check out the DragFest Indoor Drag Racing Showcase. It’s a great static gathering of drag cars, show cars and more. A few area dragstrips were in attendance handing out 2026 schedules along with a few of the cars that are regulars at their facilit

(Photos by Darr Hawthorne) • MOONEYES’ Christmas Party Show & Drag has found a new home at Pomona’s legendary In-N-Out Burger Drag Strip—and it fits. What started years ago as a street-gathering hot rod hangout around the old MOON Equipment Company building in Santa Fe Springs has exploded into a full-on, sold-out Show & Drag. This thing outgrew the streets a long ago. By the time Christmas rolled around, with Irwindale Raceway bulldozed, Pomona was the only place left in SoCal that c
