Melting Pot for Japan's Best Tuners
The past few days have been awash with news coming from the 2026 Tokyo Auto Salon. What makes this particular show unique is that it is the perfect mix for all kinds of automotive enthusiasts. Big manufacturers flock to the show and even choose to launch new models there, but the displays are dominated by the extremely unique builds that the Japanese car scene is known for.
One of the most unique and well-done examples is what's being called the "Pocket Bunny," a Suzukikei car turned mini-Godzilla.
Pocket Bunny
The creators behind this build are Pandem Rocket Bunny and Takahashi Jun. The Pocket Bunny is described as a "Radical Custom Body Swap." The original body came from a Suzuki Twin, a Japanese market Kei car. What they've essentially done is turn the Suzuki into a tiny and cute R32 Skyline, hence the name Pocket Bunny.
During the show, the Pocket Bunny was exhibited by TRA Kyoto, a shop that sells body kits, wheels, and other parts from Rocket Bunny Racing and Pandem. In an interview by Kuruma News, the inspiration for the Pocket Bunny was said to be Japanese Manga. Despite how difficult it seemed, they chose to proceed with the project because they felt it would be a "hit" with the public. Oh yes, it does.
Not Just a Concept
Doing the conversion is no small task; in fact, the schematics show that considerable cutting and sculpting of the original body are needed to accommodate the kit. The original length is also extended to better fit the new panels. Some panels, like the lights and the bumper, were molded into one singular piece to fit the smaller width of the Suzuki Twin; all of this results in what is undoubtedly a very good example of a shrunken Nissan Skyline GT-R R32.
Even better, this Radical Custom Body Swap kit is actually available for sale. Buyers will be able to get the kit unpainted to allow them to customize the color, but as of right now, it is listed as sold out. The kit costs around $4,000 with the current exchange rates.
