Wilwood Racing Releases Rear Wide 5 Hub Starlite 55XD With 1-Ton Bearing Races

(0 reviews)

Wilwood Racing announces the release of the newest evolution of its legendary Wide 5 hub series for

rear axles, a Starlite 55XD featuring 1-Ton Bearing Races. Building on more than 40 years of proven

performance, the Starlite 55XD continues the legacy established by the groundbreaking Starlite II “bubble”

hub—an industry-transforming design that introduced lightweight strength through advanced engineering

pioneered by Wilwood.

The Starlite 55XD model, with 1-ton bearing races for rear axles adds stiffness and durability. Includes

coarse studs and a forged aluminum adapter plate compatible with 8 x 7.00-inch fixed or floating rotors,

and Wilwood’s Lug-Drive dynamic mount system. This expanded mounting versatility gives race teams

greater flexibility in building high-performance, track-ready braking systems.

Recognized for decades as the foundation of competitive short track braking setups, Wilwood’s Wide 5

hubs remain a trusted standard across the industry. The introduction of the latest Starlite 55XD with 1-ton

bearing races further reinforces Wilwood’s commitment to performance-driven engineering.
