Featured Replies

I use to get this cool message of the day (motd) when I logged into by Ubuntu box and since upgrading I don't get it anymore.

I use to get this:

Ubuntu 14.04.3 LTS

X11 forwarding request failed on channel 0

Last login: Thu Dec 17 13:48:38 2015 from 10.6.108.150

mount: only root can do that

dhosang@usfntnetweb01:~$

Now I get this:

Ubuntu 14.04.3 LTS

X11 forwarding request failed on channel 0

Last login: Tue Dec 15 06:56:19 2015 from 10.6.8.17

mount: only root can do that

dhosang@usfntnetweb01:~$

To get back the great motd I just had to run the following command:

sudo run-parts /etc/update-motd.d/ | sudo tee /etc/motd
