Maybe you need to transfer your domain to another location or you just need to know who the registrar is. So how do you find out? The simple command of whois. I utilize http://nwtools.com but you can go right to the ICANN source and perform a lookup

If you are a command line geek like me you would prefer to just run

whois your_domain
