For some reason when I try and burn a CD in Windows XP on my Dell Inspiron 6000 laptop it fails with a Error 4000.

Any idea's?

What CD's are you using? I found I had issues with Memorex CD's and DVD's but that was mostly when trying to burn DVD's but not sure if a similar issue exists when burning CD's.

I found what worked for me (not that its great) I did the following

1. Installed www.gearsoftware.com/support/drivers.cfm

2. Did not select CD TEXT

3. Disabled McAfee Firewall, VirusScan and Spam/Spyware.

Now it burns the CDRW at about 1minute per song (so its taking me 20minutes for 20 songs). I still don't show a Burning Tab like on my mac itunes.. so not sure how to check the burning settings but its at least working.
