Can-Am has completely redesigned its flagship Defender for 2026, introducing the all-new Defender HD11. Built for work, recreation, and everything in between, the new Defender delivers increased power, improved comfort, enhanced technology, and class-leading capability. From ranches and farms to hunting camps and remote trail systems, the Defender HD11 is designed to tackle demanding jobs while providing a more refined driving experience than ever before.
At the heart of the new Defender is a work-tuned 999cc Rotax inline three-cylinder engine producing 95 horsepower and 70 lb-ft of torque. Power is delivered through Can-Am’s Quick Response System CVT transmission and pDrive primary clutch, providing smooth acceleration, improved drivability, and increased durability. Depending on model, the Defender HD11 is available with Quick-4Lok or Smart-Lok front differential systems for enhanced traction in challenging terrain.
The 2026 Defender receives a completely redesigned chassis, suspension, and cab structure. Can-Am focused heavily on improving comfort, reducing noise and vibration, and increasing overall utility. The new interior features improved ergonomics, additional storage, upgraded seating, and an available 10.25-inch touchscreen display with integrated vehicle controls and connectivity features. Higher trim levels also offer front and rear camera integration, HVAC systems, and advanced accessory management directly through the touchscreen interface.
Capability remains a major focus of the Defender platform. The new HD11 boasts a towing capacity of up to 2,500 pounds, a payload capacity of up to 1,500 pounds, a class-leading cargo box, and available 4,500-pound winch systems on premium models. Ground clearance, suspension travel, and durability have also been improved to better handle demanding work environments and recreational adventures.
