Kawasaki Recalls 2026 Teryx4 H2 and Teryx5 H2 Models Due to Clutch Sheave Failure Risk

(0 reviews)

Kawasaki Motors Corp., U.S.A. has announced a safety recall affecting certain 2026 Kawasaki Teryx4 H2 and Teryx5 H2 side-by-side models due to a potential issue with the drive converter sheave assembly. The recall covers approximately 3,585 vehicles sold in the United States and addresses a defect that could result in clutch component failure and the discharge of metal fragments within the engine compartment and surrounding area.

According to Kawasaki, the moveable drive converter sheave can break under certain operating conditions. If the sheave fails, metal fragments may be expelled from the clutch area, creating an impact hazard that could potentially result in injury to occupants or bystanders. Kawasaki reports that it has received 19 reports of drive converter sheave breakage, although no injuries have been reported.

Models Included in the Recall

The recall affects the following 2026 models:

  • Kawasaki Teryx4 H2 (KRT1000D)
  • Kawasaki Teryx4 H2 Deluxe eS (KRT1000F)
  • Kawasaki Teryx5 H2 Deluxe eS (KRT1000G)

Affected vehicles were manufactured between July 2025 and January 2026 and sold through authorized Kawasaki dealers nationwide. Retail prices ranged from $37,199 to $43,699 depending on model and equipment level.

Remedy

Kawasaki dealers will perform the recall repair at no cost to owners. The repair includes:

  • Replacing the moveable clutch sheave assembly
  • Installing a clutch cover guard
  • Reprogramming the vehicle’s Engine Control Unit (ECU)

Owners are encouraged to stop using affected vehicles until the recall repair has been completed.

How Owners Can Check Their Vehicle

Owners can verify whether their vehicle is included in the recall by checking the VIN located on the right rear section of the main frame underneath the rear fender and above the rear wheel. Additional recall information is available through Kawasaki’s owner support resources.

Consumers can contact Kawasaki Motors USA at 855-878-4217 Monday through Friday between 7:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. PT for additional assistance.

A Significant Recall for Kawasaki’s Flagship Sport Utility Platform

The Teryx H2 platform represented a major step forward for Kawasaki when introduced, bringing supercharged performance and advanced electronic suspension technology to the sport utility side-by-side segment. The Teryx4 H2 and Teryx5 H2 Deluxe eS models combine four- and five-passenger seating with the power of Kawasaki’s 999cc supercharged engine, making them among the most powerful recreation-focused UTVs in the company’s lineup.

While recalls are never welcome news for owners, Kawasaki’s response includes both hardware and software updates designed to address the issue and improve durability moving forward. With no reported injuries and a clear repair plan in place, the company is working to ensure affected vehicles can return to service safely.
