  8. Connor Zilisch has had more success than most pro racers — let alone most 18 year olds. In 2024 alone, he earned class victories in the Rolex 24 and Sebring 12 endurance events, won five of the eight ARCA races he entered, earned pole position for his first NASCAR Truck start, and went on to win in his NASCAR Xfinity debut at Watkins Glen. Going into 2025, expectations are high as he ...Keep readingView the full article
  9. Gregoire Munster's maiden World Rally Championship stage win in Monte Carlo was a "deserved" reward for both the driver and the team that worked until 3am to repair a mechanical fault. 14. Toyota’s Sebastien Ogier handed Hyundai's Thierry Neuville the Monte Carlo Rally lead after a small mistake in the final stage of the opening night of the 2025 World Rally Championship. New-for-2025 non-hybrid powered Rally1 cars and Hankook tyres created plenty of unknowns in the event build up, but it was the familiar sight of record nine-time Monte Carlo winner Ogier topping the times ...Keep readingView the full article
  15. Shane van Gisbergen said he won't set goals for his inaugural Cup season but is confident that he can "do the job" driving No. 88 for Trackhouse. View the full article
  16. Red Bull ran a NASCAR Cup Series team from 2007 to 2011, then left the sport, going on to have some success in other racing series. But now it's back in the Cup, this time as the primary sponsor for Trackhouse Racing. The math makes sense. Trackhouse already has two Red Bull athletes on the squad: Shane van Gisbergen (who's been with the energy drink make since 2016) and young phenom Connor ...Keep readingView the full article
  17. Shane van Gisbergen and Scott McLaughlin have a lot in common: New Zealanders who parlayed multiple Supercars championships in Australia (often battling each other) into U.S racing careers — SVG in NASCAR, and McLaughlin in IndyCar. But this weekend, their careers paths briefly overlap, as the duo become teammates in this year's Rolex 24 Hours at Daytona with Trackhouse Racing. This weekend ...Keep readingView the full article
  18. Predicting this year's World Rally Championship is virtually impossible following the biggest shake-up to regulations and the calendar since 2022. One of the key ingredients of the original Rally1 regulations is no more after the FIA decided to remove hybrid power from the cars for 2025. After a long-drawn-out affair, during which hybrid was on and off the table on more than one occasion ...Keep readingView the full article
  19. Hyundai’s Ott Tanak drew first blood as the 2025 non-hybrid World Rally Championship Rally1 cars and new tyre supplier Hankook made their competitive debut in Monte Carlo. The 3.28km Route de la Garde stage offered the first opportunity for the crews to compete against each other in the less powerful but 87-kilo lighter and more agile Rally1 cars. 20. The tiny hazel dormouse (Muscardinus avellanarius) is England’s only native dormouse. Just three inches long and under an ounce in weight, it used to be common, especially in southern England, in forests with a dense understory of hazel, ivy, and honeysuckle, which allows the mice to climb into the thickets to nest in safety. But the population of hazel dormice has plummeted in recent years, mainly through the loss and fragmentation of woodland and hedgerows. One possible habitat for them is the enormous woodland adjacent to the Goodwood Estate and motorsports park—which itself is adjacent to the headquarters of Rolls-Royce Motorcars. To investigate the possibility of a resident hazel dormouse community, apprentices at Rolls-Royce, with input from the estate’s forestry managers, designed and constructed a series of nest boxes—from quarter-sawn oak, no less—which will be monitored to prove, or disprove, the presence of the mice. I’d suggest the company offer these for sale to the public as well at a premium, complete with the Rolls-Royce stamp, to provide yet more habitat and raise money for further conservation efforts. (I might also suggest they investigate something a bit more suitable than bungee cord to secure it to the tree.) View the full article

  22. The 2025 specification World Rally Championship cars without hybrid power are much "simpler" and "a lot easier" to drive, according to Hyundai Motorsport's Ott Tanak. As a result of the regulation change ...Keep readingView the full article
