  1. Blending the best of both worlds, chili mac combines the smoky and spicy flavor of chilli with the rich and creamy texture of mac & cheese. It’s an all-American camping classic and using this recipe, you can make it using just a single pot! This recipe makes enough for around 4 people. INSTRUCTIONS In a Dutch oven or other large pot with a lid, heat the oil over medium heat. Add the onion and saute until translucent, 3-5 minutes. Add the ground beef, tomato paste, chili powder, cumin, smoked paprika, and salt. Using your spoon or spatula, break apart the meat and stir to coat with the tomato paste and spices. Once browned, add the garlic and saute for 30-60 seconds. Add the noodles, kidney beans, and broth and stir. Cover with the lid and cook for 5-6 minutes (unless the noodle packaging denotes a different cooking time). Remove the lid and stir in the cheese. Serve with your favorite chili toppings.

  3. Here is some info on some trail riding in the U.P. In a stock rig, take the trail out to High Rock Bay and the offshoot to the rocket range. Both are marked and easy for a stock truck. The cliff mine area has a huge network of trails to some cool overlooks, but without a map you’ll find yourself at some big gatekeepers (tough/challenging spots). Gay beach is another cool area to check out, if you have a way to air down and air back up. Check out the logging roads in the state forest East of CH. After the end of US 41 there are tons of dirt roads that go on for miles. While it’s not a trail, definitely recommend driving up Brockway Mountain Drive. It’s the best views of the Keewenaw up there! The tip of the Keweenaw has a lot of flooded trails. Make sure you have a winch. The only gas station closes real early. And make sure you see the nasa rocket monument at the tip of the Keweenaw Big Eric’s Bridge near Skanee up to the Mouth of the Huron at Lake Superior is some fun two tracking. Primarily sandy with some good sized ‘mud puddles’ to traverse. Also check out Calumet Air Force Station. It’s an abandoned SAC base, really cool to explore. You can get into it from the north east side and walk in with no fences. 401636925_KOAR202022.pdf
