The auto industry may be getting a bit of a reprieve from the latest round of tariffs enacted by Pres. Donald Trump following the U.S. Supreme Court’s decision announced last Friday finding most of his early import duties were illegal. But automakers and auto suppliers still face earlier tariffs on imported vehicles, parts and metals not covered by the court’s ruling. And that means auto buyers will continue to pay substantially inflated prices at a time when many potential customers have been d

Still Driving Through Uncertainty The tariffs imposed by the Trump administration sent the automotive industry into turmoil, particularly for brands like Audi that lack local manufacturing in the U.S. Now, although the Supreme Court recently ruled 6–3 that many of the president’s tariffs issued under the International Emergency Economic Powers Act (IEEPA) were illegal, the sector could continue facing ongoing trade pressures. According to Automotive News, the tariffs on imported vehicles and aut

The logo on the hood used to be the whole point. You bought the German sedan or the British SUV because the badge told the world something about where you'd arrived. That calculus, according to a new survey from Mazda North American Operations, is eroding fast. In a study of recent car buyers, 81% said the experience behind the wheel, encompassing comfort, performance, and intuitive technology, is what makes a vehicle stand out. Only 19% pointed to the brand's badge. And when asked to define wha

I’ve use a lot of different methods for removing suspension bushings, but this one makes me question whether one of those methods was ever done correctly. I remember removing bushings by drilling a bunch of holes around the bushing, but I never used a drill bit quite like this before. Have you tried this method? Do you have a better one? Let us know in the comments section below! Video Description: In this video, I’m sharing a simple old-school trick for removing stubborn rubber suspension bus

Toyota-Suzuki: Swapping Badges Since 2019 Outside of the U.S., Suzuki and Toyota have been exchanging badges for quite some time already. The first product of the collaboration was with the revived Toyota Starlet and Glanza, which was (and still is) based on the Suzuki Baleno. Since then, several Suzukis bore Toyota badges in select regions, particularly in South Asia and Africa. Of course, Toyota is doing its share too. In Japan, its Noah minivan is also called the Suzuki Landy, while the India

Australia's Problematic Swift The Australian market had the new Suzuki Swift for a minute before it crashed and was pulled from shelves. Suzuki Australia made a few calls following the results of the Australian New Car Assessment Program (ANCAP) in 2024. Prior to this, the Euro NCAP tested the Swift, which scored fairly well with a three-star rating.  Given the Euro NCAP score, it’s fair to assume the Australian-market Swift would net similar scores, but even Suzuki Australia was caught off-guar

I’m not sure there has every been a Dodge Caravan that was cleaner and cooler than this one right here, and the engine swap hasn’t even happened yet! This one here is something special. Sure, there have been plenty of turbo 4 cylinder Dodge Caravans and Plymouth Voyagers over the years, but this van is so mint that it defies description. Just wait until you see it! If the SRT4 Neon agrees to run, and to give up it’s drivetrain, this little van is going to be something special once the swap, tune, and some upgrades goes down. I can’t wait to take a ride in it! Video Description: TURBO SLEEPER MINIVAN – Let’s GOOO! This week on Stay Tuned, To

Circumstances The past few years have been tough for the EV industry; some of the causes stem from the removal of government incentives, leading to a gradual decline in sales and to major EV plans being paused or, in some cases, stopped altogether. An unforeseen event has somewhat tipped the scales back in favor of EV mobility. Circumstances dictated by the sudden, sharp rise in fuel prices brought about by the Middle East conflict are prompting people to crunch the numbers.

Cars and Tariffs There are heaps of cars that we wish were sold here, but regulations prevent that from happening for the most part. However, tariffs have made it harder for automakers to bring in products they believe will sell well in the US. Of course, it's not the first time tariffs have blocked cars from coming to the country. The Chicken Tax is a prime example of how it's still a deciding factor in the light truck market. But today, there are more tariffs being imposed on cars made outside

The effects of U.S. tariffs on the auto industry cannot be overstated and include billions of dollars in added costs for automakers and suppliers, forced supply chain restructuring and fragmentation, rising manufacturing costs, and more. Obviously, these costs ultimately get transferred to the consumer, leading to higher new car prices. But there’s another ugly consequence for buyers: some models are getting removed from the U.S. market because the tariffs make them no longer financially viable.

Porsche Hit With Charging Issue Lawsuit...Again Two Porsche EV owners have launched a lawsuit against the German automaker. The suit alleges that the charging cables supplied to their respective vehicles are defective, stating that they overheat and stop charging. The cars weren't the main source of the problem, though it's worth noting that the owners' cars were a Taycan Turbo and a Taycan 4S. It was mentioned that the cable would also become "hot to the touch where it plugged into the vehicle’

A Five-Cylinder Tradition Audi has long been involved in motorsports, with its latest major push coming in Formula 1. But one of its most significant chapters dates back to early rally racing, where the automaker championed key innovations such as the Quattro all-wheel-drive system and a turbocharged five-cylinder engine. That distinctive layout has endured over the years, and one modern iteration is the 2.5-liter turbocharged DAZA engine pulled from a 2017 Audi RS3. Deutsche Auto Parts obtained

Not Your Typical Four-Cylinder While Mercedes-Benz, like most automakers, is now shifting toward downsized, electrified powertrains, the German marque introduced the 2.1-liter turbodiesel OM651 diesel engine almost two decades ago – an engine often described as “overbuilt.” The diesel engine has received mixed reviews when it comes to reliability, with some critics pointing to issues such as timing chain wear and oil leaks, particularly in higher-mileage examples. The OM651 had a relatively limi

The Kia Stinger may be about to make a comeback as an all-electric sedan. The Stinger was foreshadowed by the 2011 GT Concept and the Kia GT4 Stinger Concept before finally entering production in 2017. With a front-engine rear- or all-wheel-drive setup and sharp styling, it drew comparisons to the BMW 3 Series, and all who drove it applauded its keen handling. However, sales weren't strong enough to justify its continued existence, and in April 2023, production came to an end. But new images and

The first product from the new low-volume Mythos division of Mercedes is almost ready to be unveiled, with AMG sharing a batch of new images of the CLE-based super sports car on Instagram. Still clad in a geometric camouflage wrap but with the body looking close to production-ready, these images give us a closer look at some of the aerodynamic elements that will make this V8-powered monster a true 911 GT3 RS rival. Unlike the Porsche, this coupe won't make do with just 518 horsepower, though. If

There’s not much missing from Toyota’s extensive U.S. model lineup, but it doesn’t have a three-row electric SUV. That’s set to change on February 10, when the brand reveals its first Kia EV9 rival. The EV was first teased last week, showing nothing much more than a full-width rear lighting bar. But Toyota has now shown off the interior for the first time, which gives us our best look yet at the new family hauler. Airy Cabin Seats At Least Six

Tesla's 4680 battery promised exponentially greater power, density, and range. However, five years after Battery Day - when the 4680 was revealed - the numbers leave much to be desired. Tesla's vertical integration nightmare has come true, where it has managed to cut costs, but its batteries fall short when compared with competitors across the industry, even cheaper LFP batteries. Behind On Paper, And In Real Life Tesla's 4680 battery was designed to replace the industry-standard Panasonic 2170.

Building Out a Robotaxi Map Tesla has expanded its unsupervised Robotaxi service to two additional cities, Dallas and Houston, bringing its total to three locations in Texas. The company also operates in the San Francisco Bay Area, though that deployment still requires a safety driver. The move could prove pivotal for Tesla, as the company looks to evolve beyond electric vehicles and lean into robotaxis and even a humanoid robot known as Optimus. But the trade-off is ending production of the Mod

Tesla vs. California DMV In 2025, the California Department of Motor Vehicles said that Tesla was misrepresenting the capabilities of its Autopilot system and driving aids. It wasn't just the name Autopilot that bothered the DMV; it was claims of it being "able to conduct short and long-distance trips with no action required by the person in the driver’s seat." The automaker was then facing a 30-day sales suspension in the state, and the California DMV told the company to change its marketing la

The Model X Leads the Charge Over the past year, Tesla has faced several setbacks, from broader disruptions in the electric vehicle market to CEO Elon Musk’s political activity, which has driven away even some of its most devoted fans. Nonetheless, a report from iSeeCars suggests these issues may have had little to no effect on the company – at least in the used car market. The study found that the Tesla Model X was the fastest-selling used vehicle in March 2026, spending an average of 25.6 days

Tesla Wants to Push Back Tesla has spent the past few years navigating an increasingly crowded legal docket. From claims that defective door handles are impacting resale value to a lawsuit alleging that a Tesla Cybertrucknearly careened off an overpass while using Full Self-Driving, the company has faced scrutiny across both hardware and software fronts. Add to that a failed attempt to overturn a $243 million verdict tied to a fatal Autopilot crash, and a pattern begins to emerge: Tesla’s rapid

Tesla has officially stopped production of the Model S sedan and Model X SUV, ending a great run for two of the most important EVs ever made. Before the cheaper Model 3 and Model Y arrived, the larger EVs set new standards for range and performance in the electric car segment. Crucially, they also served as major image builders for EVs at a time when they were still viewed as severely compromised and/or too alien in their design. Tesla shared the news on social media, complete with a picture of

Cars That Don’t Sit Still Anymore Over-the-air (OTA) updates have changed what it means to own a car. Instead of being stuck with whatever features your car had when you bought it, modern vehicles – especially EVs – can keep getting better long after you drive them home. That might mean sharper driver assistance, new apps, better efficiency, or just a smoother interface. Of course, it also means you’ll sometimes wait for downloads, run into the odd bug, and realize your car now acts more like a
