It Looks...Familiar What you're looking at isn't AI slop that's been driving up Ram prices to unreasonable levels. Caterpillar has unveiled its first-ever pickup, and it was even shown in metal at ConExpo 2026. That said, you don't have to peel away a lot of things to figure out what it's based on, though. It's essentially a rebadged Ford Super Duty with a slim steel bumper at the front and an attention-grabbing wrap — at least we think it's a wrap. The Ford roots are evident, yes, but Caterpill

If you missed any of the Formula 1 action that was going on at the Goodwood Festival of Speed this year, then you missed a lot. Celebrating 75 years of F1 was the focus of the 2025 running of the Goodwood Festival of Speed and that meant F1 drivers and cars from decades of racing were on hand. The chance to see some of them on track at the same time was truly something special. There are drivers and cars that have never been on track before and will likely never do it again either. If you are a

The eighth-generation Dodge Charger, which has the difficult mission of replacing both the previous-generation Charger sedan and the Challenger coupe, is far from a commercial success. Dodge only sold 7,421 units of the new Charger in 2025, its first full year on the market. That’s about ten times less than the almost 76,000 previous-gen Charger units sold in 2023, the LD generation’s last full year on the market—and that’s not including almost 45,000 Challenger sales in 2023. Mind you, the 2025

I love me some 8.1 horsepower, and in the video below our friend Richard Holdener is back at Westech Performance doing some cam testing on his dyno mule 8.1. He also does some testing with a carb vs efi. Everyone is always asking whether or not these engines can make more power and torque with a carburetor, and here is the test that will tell you. Regardless, these 8.1 big blocks make good power, respond really well to camshaft upgrades, and they love boost just like most good engines. You reall

The Math Most Drivers Miss Pull up to a gas station in Iowa, and you might see E85 priced a dollar or more below regular unleaded. At first glance, this appears to be an easy decision; however, there is a factor that many of us ignore when we make this decision at the pump, and it quietly destroys the perceived savings. E85 contains roughly 27% less energy per gallon than gasoline. This energy deficit will require your engine to use more fuel to travel the same distance, which translates to a 15

Dylan McCool knows how to take advantage of some good fortune. When he was offered a big boat of a Lincoln, for free, and had already been given a 460 big block Ford, for free, he knew that the horsepower gods were speaking to him. What they were saying is “let’s do burnouts with this big barge!” and he listened. If you want to see the fun, and find out just how he got both of these things for free, watch the video below. And check out his resourcefulness to do it on the cheap. We approve. Vide

Tommy Lee Byrd has been busy in 2026, and man are we loving the content. The video below features some really cool factory race cars, rare muscle cars, and his favorite hidden jems from the Kissimmee Florida Mecum Auction. This one is special, and in an age where we see no shortage of car auctions it still amazes me what kind of machines these auctions find and are able to roll across the auction block. It’s like going to a museum when you attend some of these sales, and this one here is no exce

While folks naturally think of Corvettes as the corner carving machines they were designed to be, there is significant Corvette history at the dragstrip as well. There are a jillion examples of Corvettes at famous road courses all over the world, but Corvette drag cars came in every flavor from Funny Cars to Stock Eliminator, and just about everything in between. In the Hot Rod Hoarders video from Tommy Lee Byrd, you’ll get over an hour of awesome gassers, drag cars, customs, and more, so check

I remember when the World of Wheels show came to San Jose as a kid. Dad and I would always make the trip to go check out the cars and trucks in the show. They were always some of the best indoor car shows in our area and we had fun going. When we moved to Texas, we started going to the Dallas World of Wheels show, and while it isn’t huge it is still a pretty cool show with lots of great cars and trucks. So when I saw that Tommy Lee Byrd, the Hot Rod Hoarder, posted up video from the World of Wh

Before anyone starts yelling that there are quicker cars that have been around the Nurburgring, remember that there are only two of them and both of those cars had electric assist as a power adder. This Ford GT Mk IV does not have electric assist and is a beast. No American OEM has been quicker, and this record is the 3rd quickest of all time on the track. Pretty impressive. Blazing the Trail The name Chevrolet Blazer is important; this model has been one of the brand's more iconic nameplates, dating back to the late 60s and 70s. Over the years, it has taken on different form factors and has survived a lot of ups and downs, but what is notable today is that it now bears the EV powertrain for the brand. Having been in production since 2024, it is about time the mid-cycle refresh is given to the Blazer EV, and for 2027, GM is set to introduce notable updates to the ag

Unified Charging System One of the most annoying parts of EV ownership has been the different charging port standards. Over the years, each brand has claimed its technology is the best option, but it only leads to confusion and frustration for owners. Some charging stations would only support a specific charging port, which might not be compatible with some EVs. In a bid to streamline charging for EV owners, brands have begun switching to a single charging port option, making it much easier for

Turning the Volume All the Way Up While Hennessey Performance has been making headlines with its C8 Corvette ZR1 build, Specialty Vehicle Engineering’s take on the platform shouldn’t be overlooked. SVE has reworked the C8 Corvette E-Ray with its 2026 Stage III Yenko/SC package, pushing output to as much as 1,564 horsepower – roughly 900 more than stock. That dramatic increase comes from an extensively reworked 6.2-liter LT2 V8 featuring upgraded internals, including a forged steel crankshaft, fo

Gen Z Car Enthusiasts Are Reviving Forgotten Icons Gen Z may not be embracing car culture at the same level as previous generations, but the enthusiasts who are diving in seem to be gravitating toward objects and experiences that many millennials once ignored or discarded. Digital cameras, cassette players, vintage electronics, and even old-school performance cars are finding a second life among younger buyers. One of the more surprising examples is the Chevrolet Cobalt SS, which recently landed

For decades, the Corvette's dirty little secret was its cabin. Earlier generations, the C5, C6, C7, drew real criticism for interiors that felt like an afterthought with scratchy plastics, cheap switchgear, and questionable ergonomics. That reputation is now, officially, dead. The 2026 Corvette ZR1X has earned a spot on the 2026 Wards 10 Best Interiors and UX list, beating out nearly two dozen other contenders to take one of the industry's more respected interior awards. For the 2026 model year,

In terms of sheer bang for your buck, no sports car can match the Chevrolet Corvette C8. From the base model to the mighty ZR1X, it offers a level of performance that surpasses exotics costing hundreds of thousands more. As a reminder of how good the Corvette is, the ZR1 has just set another lap record, beating the McLaren Senna in the process. This isn’t even the most powerful Corvette C8—that honor goes to the hybrid ZR1X—but its recent lap time at the Virginia International Raceway demonstrat

Chevrolet has ruffled a few feathers with its latest halo car, the Chevrolet Corvette ZR1. While traditional supercars are often scarce and wildly expensive, the ZR1 flips that script. With 1,064 hp from its twin-turbo V8 and a 0 to 60 mph time of 2.2 seconds, plus a starting price around $185,000 in the US, it delivers performance that rivals far pricier machines. Then there's the even quicker all-wheel-drive ZR1X variant, which zooms from 0 to 60 mph in just 1.68 seconds, making it America's q

Corvette’s Hybrid Identity Crisis The Chevrolet Corvette E-Ray sounds like a clever evolution of the long-running Stingray nameplate, marking the model’s first-ever hybrid powertrain. However, according to sources cited by GM Authority, Chevrolet may be considering a name change to Grand Sport X, as the current name may be hurting sales. The report stated that the letter ‘E’ in E-Ray may confuse buyers, as it suggests the model is fully electric. That misconception is considered a factor in the
