(Photos by Chad Reynolds) America’s Most Beautiful Roadster is a title given to just one roadster per year and is considered one of the two highest hot rod award honors in the world. Given out at the Grand National Roadster Show in Pomona California, an event that originally started up north in Oakland, there are a select few cars that each year enter to be considered for the AMBR award. It’s like an Oscar, only harder to win and there aren’t different ones for different classes. There is just o

Last week, the all-new C8 Corvette Grand Sport and Grand Sport X were launched with a new 6.7-liter V8 engine, and although Chevy didn't say so at the time, these new Corvettes are the beginning of the end for the C8 story. As noted by Motor1, a discussion with Corvette Chief Engineer Josh Holder on The Gas podcast confirmed that no more C8 models are planned, and as with previous Corvette generations, the return of the Grand Sport nameplate effectively marks the final chapter in the story for t

Growing up in the 1970’s and 1980’s means I’ve seen some products offered for sale that would never be allowed as a new product sold today. Lawn Darts are the ones that everyone always wants to talk about, but the truth is that there were tons of other toys, go karts, bikes, trikes, and more that would never make it past the product liability folks in corporate America now. This also applies to ATVs and off-road toys. Remember ATCs? These three wheeled machines were huge, but ultimately were dee

GT-R Godfather: As Nissan Faces Financial Pressure, e-Power Is Still About Driving Feel Nissan enters its next technology cycle under financial strain, amid cost cuts, restructuring, and uneven global performance. Still, as e-Power readies for the U.S., the company is positioning it as more than a survival move. Speaking at the 2026 Philippine Nissan Festival, Hiroshi Tamura, longtime chief product specialist of the Nissan GT-R R35, said e-Power was engineered around the same principle that def

Hands-free driving tech that allows cars to travel on highways with minimal driver input is becoming an ever more common feature in new models, despite ongoing concerns around the safety of such systems, according to a report by the Wall Street Journal. Systems like Tesla’s Autopilot, GM’s Super Cruise and Ford’s BlueCruise are now an accepted feature of plenty of new cars, in spite of a spate of sometimes-fatal crashes and misunderstandings around the tech cited by the WSJ. Harley-Davidson Recalls 88,000 Motorcycles After Fault Could Cause Oil to Spray When Checking Engine
While mainstream automakers like Toyota and Nissan often feature in recall reports, whether for unusable seats in the Sienna minivan or battery fire risks in the all-electric Leaf, issues like these are not limited to cars. Motorcycle brands face similar challenges, and that now includes Harley-Davidson. The American manufacturer is recalling more than 88,000 motorcycles in the United States due to a defect that could pose a serious risk to riders. Breather Port Defect Explained- 0 comments

Finnegan’s Rubber Ducky, the cool yellow 1967 Pontiac Firebird that he picked up a few years ago, has been a fun ride that has taken him on Drag and Drive events, done great Christmas tree videos, and more. It’s powered by a big block, and they’ve done tons of work to the car over the years to make it quicker and quicker. But they’ve done little to the engine in comparison to the rest of the car. So what is in store for the Rubber Ducky now? In the video below, Peter Harrell, owner and head engi

Hyperscreens Are Here to Stay For those hoping that Mercedes-Benz would dial down the Hyperscreen over time, we have bad news for you. The German automaker is sticking to its guns when it comes to that matter, so don't expect simplified interiors from the brand any time soon, or ever. Autocar recently spoke to Mathias Geisen, Mercedes-Benz's head of sales and marketing, regarding the matter. If anything, it's set to double down on the whole thing, and we wouldn't be too surprised if we end up wi

I can’t remember the last time I was in a Harbor Freight and didn’t look at the gantry cranes longingly. Sure, I cherry picker is a great thing that we all need in the shop, but man these gantrys sure look like they would be handy, especially when pulling bodies or beds or what have you. And I own a forklift! I can lift just about anything, but I think one of these could be pretty handy, especially if you put an electric hoist on it too. At any rate, when I found this video showing one of them b

Have You Ever Wondered How They Clean And Flush A Radiator? This Cool Video Shows The Whole Process.
When I lived in Southern California, we used Victor’s Radiator Service, an awesome radiator shop that we used all the time to clean and reseal radiators. They also cleaned and resealed heater cores and gas tanks and were a great resource that charged very fair prices. When I moved to Dallas it was a real pain to find someone with the same services, and when asking around I heard lots of folks complain about what it cost to have a radiator repaired. I often think that one of the reasons that peop- 0 comments

Keeping The Tradition Alive Every automotive manufacturer aims for true brand loyalty: a repeat customer, and even better, the whole family across generations staying with one brand. That type of legacy buyer is tough to have nowadays, with an ever-growing list of new car brands and a widening variety of preferences. Which is why when stories come along of true loyalists, we can't help but be in awe. Just like a family from Canada who've spent most of their lives as Ford people.

USDM to JDM It's not surprising that automakers have specific models for each region or market they participate in. There's no sense selling a product that Japan wants, but the U.S. doesn't, which leads to USDM like the much-loved Murano SUV. Already in its fourth generation, the Murano has become a popular choice in the larger SUV market. It was also sold in Japan until 2015, but the 11-year absence is about to be broken. Nissan announced in March of 2026 that the Murano would return to Japanes

The current WL-generation Jeep Grand Cherokee has been around for half a decade, but there's still no Hellcat-powered Trackhawk variant. That may soon change, though, thanks to the return of V8-loving Tim Kuniskis as the boss of SRT (and Ram), reports The Drive. With Stellantis bringing HEMI V8s back and the Hellcat engine looking more and more likely to return to the Dodge Charger, the publication spoke to Jeep's vice president of sales, Mauricio Lopez, about the possibility of a high-performan

HEMI’s All-But-Confirmed Return When Dodge rolled out the eighth-generation Charger, the message was straightforward. Electrification came first, followed by turbocharged six-cylinder power. The all-electric Charger Daytona and the twin-turbo HURRICANE-powered SIXPACK models pointed to a shift in priorities. But there was no V8 in sight. Fans have been asking for HEMI power to return, and Dodge hasn’t ruled it out. Earlier this year, Tim Kuniskis said that if a V8 comes back, it would need to be

In recent times, North Carolina-based Signature Autosports has been rebuilding modern sports cars with bodies that look vintage, like a Porsche Boxster that mimics a Porsche 356 and a Mercedes 300 SL Gullwing replica built on Mercedes SLK bones, but now it's gone in a different direction by shoving a supercharged Hellcat engine under the hood of a Jeep Wrangler Rubicon. The company's one-off combines the off-road capability of the iconic SUV with hardcore supercharged power, and it's for sale, b

Unprecedented Demand Stellantis is moving to significantly expand HEMI V8 production after demand for the engine outpaced supply in 2025, according to Ram CEO Tim Kuniskis. In an interview with Mopar Insiders at the 2026 Detroit Auto Show, Kuniskis confirmed the automaker is increasing output following last year’s shortfall, when Stellantis was unable to build enough HEMI-powered trucks to meet customer demand. In 2025, Stellantis received roughly 50,000 HEMI orders but produced only about 30,00

The name Goliath conjures up images of size and power, so it's a perfect fit for the latest creation from the Texas-based horsepower freaks at Hennessey, who have given the 2026 Chevrolet Silverado ZR2 a monstrous supercharged upgrade. The Goliath 700 ZR2, as it's been dubbed, gives the top-tier Silverado ZR2's 6.2-liter V8 a twin-screw supercharger with air-to-water intercooling and a new ECU tune that results in a 66 percent output boost, or 700 horsepower and 611 lb-ft of torque. A Strong Urge to Go Faster The current state of the auto industry suggests that many buyers now place greater importance on in-car technology and comfort features – some even calling Apple CarPlay a dealbreaker – than on outright performance. Despite these shifting priorities, there are still brands that remain deeply enthusiastic about the automobile itself. Among them is Hennessey Performance Engineering, which has gone so far as to say it has a responsibility to continue pushing boundaries an

Hennessey is marking 250 years of the United States of America with something excessive and restrained all at once. It's called the VelociRaptor 1200 F-250, and as the name indicates, it's based on a Ford F-250 Lariat with the available 6.7-liter High Output V8 Turbo Diesel engine, the highest-performing engine you can get with the truck at 500 horsepower and (and this is the important part), 1,200 lb-ft of torque from just 1,600 rpm. That's enough even for the Texan tuner, which held back on fi
