Tesla is no stranger to controversy when it comes to advertising, among other things. For a company that allegedly doesn’t spend a dime on advertising, the EV maker is constantly in the news, although not always for the right reasons. The latest mishap involves Tesla Canada’s website, which recently started advertising a new Model 3 Premium RWD version that’s about $8,000 cheaper that the previous entry-level version. As it often does, Tesla did not provide details, preferring to leave people gu

Autonomous Future? It seems like the one segment of the automotive industry that's still hotly debated is autonomous driving. Some say that it has a place in our current society, while others (most people) claim that they are still years away from being safe and independent enough to be offered on a wide scale. That hasn't stopped manufacturers from entering autonomous driving; most major makers have recently been investing in future technologies to advance self-driving tech.

The EV That Put VinFast On The Map The VF 8 is the model that really put VinFast on the map, especially for North American buyers – but not always for the right reasons. Early reviews called out issues with ride comfort, software quirks, and a general lack of polish. Owners soon added their own complaints about charging, reliability, and day-to-day usability, with a few even taking legal action over persistent problems. To be fair, VinFast tried to fix what it could through software updates and

During yesterday’s Investor Day 2026 event (you can watch a replay here), Stellantis teased two all-new Dodge models: an entry-level performance hatchback called the GLH (for “Go Like Hell”) and a high-powered SRT muscle car int

Unsung Heroes Each and every car we own and drive has gone through a complicated, process-driven production line. Cars are filled with hundreds, if not thousands, of individual parts. The unsung heroes are the men and women who work behind the scenes, responsible for putting together our reliable and dependable cars. In America, numerous manufacturing plants produce major components for the cars we buy. Toyota Missouri is marking an important milestone in the assembly business, building expertis

He was hospitalized earlier Thursday but succumbed to a yet-to-be-disclosed illness later in the day. Prior to his passing, the family announced that he would be missing the Coca-Cola 600 at the Charlotte Motor Speedway. The last couple of months have been rough for NASCAR. The sport is just reeling in from the death of Greg Biffle and his family from a plane crash, and now, the sudden passi

The Chaos Series has been going hot and heavy so far this season, and with lots more racing left there are a lot of teams out there battling it out for points. And the competition is getting tougher, so that means race teams need to be out testing to make sure they have the right tuneups to make it through the end of the season. Will this weekend be the break some teams need? Time will tell, but our friend NC Promoder was on hand to share the testing action going on yesterday and the video is be

The Ram ProMaster's Troubles Keep Piling Up The Ram ProMaster is having a tough year. Fresh off a federal investigation by the NHTSA for power steering failures, the popular commercial van is now facing a complicated legal battle. FiatChrysler Automobiles, operating as Stellantis North America, has been hit with a proposed 38-page class action lawsuit. Plaintiffs allege the automaker misleadingly advertised the 2022 and 2023 Ram ProMaster vans as having a new nine-speed automatic transmission. I

The Digital Cockpit Revolution Car interfaces have transformed over the last decade, replacing tactile knobs with sprawling digital displays, a shift that brings both cutting-edge convenience and a nostalgia for simpler controls. This rapid transformation has formed a distinct love-hate relationship with car enthusiasts, who appreciate the cutting-edge convenience but often mourn the simplicity of the past. To revolutionize this cabin experience, Stellantis is partnering with Qualcomm Technologi

Chery, China’s largest car exporter, indicated its intention this week to enter the U.S. market when the timing becomes viable. For now, tariffs and local regulations have kept Chinese automakers out of the United States, but many analysts believe this won’t last forever. China’s growing presence in the global automotive industry has left many legacy automakers scrambling to keep up. In markets like the UK and Australia, Chinese models have already crept into the top 10 best-seller's list. Chery

Stellantis’ Investor Day 2026 event brought an array of new announcements from the Franco-Italo-American carmaker, chief of which is a massive product offensive centered on the company’s four global brands: Ram, Jeep, Peugeot and Fiat. No fewer than 60 new vehicle launches and 50 significant model refreshes are coming from Stellantis by 2030 across all brands, including 39 ICE/mild hybrid vehicles, 29 battery-electric vehicles, 24 hybrid electric vehicles, and 15 plug-in hybrid or range-extended

Just a few days after Hyundai had to recall over 50,000 Elantra Hybrids for a fire risk, the automaker has had to initiate another recall—and this one is a lot bigger. Over 420,000 Hyundai models have now been recalled for a forward collision system that could unexpectedly activate the brakes. This comes a few months after Hyundai was sued for phantom braking in certain Tucson models. The issue has led to four reported rear-end crashes after Hyundai models erroneously activated their brakes, so

Finally Available in its Motherland The third-generation Mazda CX-5 made its world premiere in mid-2025. However, the first market to get it was Europe when sales kicked off in December that year. It was followed by the U.S. in early 2026, and it's only now that sales have commenced in its home market, Japan. What's interesting about the redesigned CX-5 is that there are three distinct powertrains for its major markets. North American models have the familiar 2.5-liter SkyActiv-G with no electri

Ram Finally Commits To The Compact Truck Space Ram and Stellantis have considered a smaller pickup for North America for years. CEO Tim Kuniskis liked the idea, but there were questions about whether buyers here would go for a unibody truck with a Ram badge. Profitability was another concern, since price tends to matter more than image in this segment. That approach has shifted. Stellantis now says a new compact Ram pickup is coming to the US as part of a broader product rollout through 2030. Th

Tesla is rarely short of new ideas, and as an EV manufacturer, finding small efficiencies is particularly important. The company's latest published patents (of some 3,300 globally) show just how far Tesla is willing to go in search of these improvements, with the company filing to protect designs for a glass roof that literally has holes in it to help cool the cabin and a separate system for literally sucking warm air from the interior. We'll start with the first. It's an interesting idea; glass

Under the Fastlane 2030 strategy revealed by Stellantis on Thursday, four brands will dominate the automaker’s future: Jeep, Ram, Fiat and Peugeot. The two U.S. marques are the real winners, however, as the North American market will receive a disproportionate share of the cash – and new products – that underpin the $70 billion program. Chrysler Fastlane contains a number of surpr

Goodguys Nashville has always been a good show, but this year was really something special because of the brand new venue! If you squint and imagine this 1960 Oldsmobile lowered, with a freshly painted set of steelies and caps, you can see yourself driving it down the highway on Hot Rod Power Tour. This thing could be cruising perfection with just a few tweaks. If it was mine I think I’d lower it a couple of inches, I’d freshen up the wheel and tire combo, and I’d screw a street sign to the floor to “fix” the rust and be on my way. Maybe, if I was feeling ambitious, I’d install a Sniper 2 EFI and swap a 700r4 or 4L6

Tesla has released version 14.3.3 of its Full Self-Driving (Supervised) driver assistance tech, and those who have already tried it say the update brings several improvements. However, it's also less naggy, giving drivers fewer alerts to keep them focused on the road when the system detects them looking away, and that's a concern for a system that is not truly capable of autonomous driving. Of course, Tesla CEO Elon Musk announced this as a positive development when responding to an early review

The all-new 2027 Audi Q9 flagship luxury SUV that’s coming to the United States later this year will bring a cool feature U.S. car shoppers have long been waiting for. While buyers in Europe and other markets have enjoyed Audi’s sophisticated Matrix LED headlights for more than a decade—they debuted on the flagship Audi A8 back in 2013—U.S. buyers have been deprived of this feature because outdated federal regulations did not allow it. That will end this year, as Audi has confirmed its adaptive

Customization is King Automakers are trying their best to add more features and options to their products. Most of these features come in the form of customization options, allowing owners to be playful with their cars. This is easier for some brands that are in the business of having global partnerships and collaborations with other known entities. Hyundai wants to leverage some of its tie-ups by offering a new product.

Nature Takes the Wheel in Kansas Animals and various critters have quite a relationship with cars as much as we do, from moose licking salt off vehicles in Canada to Volkswagen engineering specialized badges to reduce kamikaze kangaroo collisions in Australia. But a recent situation in Kansas feels less like a typical wildlife encounter and more like a real-life episode of The Simpsons. A local Ford dealership found itself with a highly motivated buyer for a shiny, brand-new F-250 sitting on its
