AEV FXL is Ready for Big Adventures with 40s

AEV’s system-engineered builds have long set the bar for serious adventure vehicles, and now Ford owners finally get their turn. The new AEV FXL marks the brand’s first step onto the Ford Super Duty platform, delivering a turn-key expedition build that adds capability and confidence without compromising the Super Duty’s workhorse DNA.

What makes the AEV FXL different isn’t just its size; it’s the way the system works together. AEV engineers built a suite of components that communicate as a complete package, eliminating much of the guesswork and compromise common in heavy truck builds. Every element of the AEV FXL is designed to work together as part of a fully integrated system, eliminating the compromises that often come with piecemeal builds. The result is a heavy-duty truck that feels intentional in every detail, from ride quality and durability to stance and clearance.

Rather than chasing lift for lift’s sake, AEV engineered the FXL around a clear objective: fit 40-inch tires with minimal lift while maintaining proper geometry, ride quality, and real-world usability. The name reflects that mission: “F” for Ford and “XL,” the Roman numeral for 40, highlighting the massive BFGoodrich HD-Terrain KT tires that anchor the build, achieving traction, clearance, and presence without feeling overbuilt or compromised.

At the core of the FXL is a fully integrated system of AEV-designed components developed to work together as a single package. A 4-inch DualSport XP suspension with AEV-tuned Bilstein shocks delivers the clearance needed for serious terrain while preserving payload and towing confidence. The setup is paired with 18-inch AEV Katmai DualSport wheels, which are beadlock-capable for low-pressure off-road travel and optimized for heavy loads.

To accommodate the increased tire size and maintain full articulation, AEV added HighMark fender flares that widen the stance and prevent rubbing. Protection comes from stamped steel front and rear bumpers designed for real use, including winch compatibility, recovery points, auxiliary lighting options, and full integration with factory driver-assist systems.
