Ural Announces a New Budget Minded Model

Ural motorcycles are timeless machines that inspire thoughts of trips along forgotten roads with nothing but your bike and who, or whatever, rides along in the sidecar. The Gear Up model has been relatively unchanged for a number of years, and while it’s an absolute classic, when fully decked out, it approaches a $27,000 price point. If you’re looking for some adventures with a sidecar entow, but you don’t want to drop that kind of cash, the newest offering from Ural should be on your radar.

The recently announced Neo 500 will reportedly be priced at less than $15,000 USD. And along with its lower price point, it also brings modern styling that’s a far departure from Ural’s usual designs. The new bike will be a partnership between Ural and Chinese motorcycle manufacturers Zonsen and Yingang. It’s powered by Zosen’s 446cc water-cooled parallel twin and based on the SUV500 II from Yingang.

The Neo 500 will also be the first one-wheeled drive bike from Ural in recent years. The display takes care of gauges and other vital information a vertical format.

Obviously, with its one-wheel drive, the Neo 500 won’t be as capable off-road, but we think it would make an excellent gravel road adventure rig that would also excel at commuting and, of course, those just-because-rides, which are one of the best kinds of rides to begin with. The Neo 500 is set to be released in Q1 of 2026, and we’ll update readers with more details as they’re available.
