  7. These IMSA GTP cars are nuts. These are some of the wildest road race cars on the planet, and riding along in one at Daytona during Rolex 24 night practice is something special. This thing sounds like a few GP bikes racing next to each other when the Cosworth built Aston Martin V12 gets up on the pipe and pissed off going around the big banked corners at Daytona. This car sounds evil, clearly makes big power, and is a handful. Sign me up! What a ride. Watch, and listen, as this thing screams around the race track lap after lap. 8. It’s time for more great Gatornationals Lucas Oil Drag Racing series videos, and these are great. We’ve shared Bobby Fazio’s videos before, and appreciate his sportsman focused drag racing coverage and interviews. His latest video is from last weekend’s NHRA GatorNationals in Florida and features NHRA Stock Eliminator racers. These are the muscle cars everyone knows and loves, with a very strict set of rules, that run on a small tire and carry the front wheels on their way to 9-12 second 1/4 mile passes. We love these cars and the racing you find in Stock Eliminator, and the drivers themselves are awesome as well. Thanks to Bobby Fazio we get a glimpse at even more Stockers and more drivers in the video below. Video Description: We are kicking off the 2026 National Event schedule at the historic Gainesville Raceway for the NHRA Gatornationals! Whether you’re a die-hard racer or just love American muscle cars, you’ve come to the right video! 9. The weather in Texas during the GoodGuys LMC Truck Spring Lonestar Nationals was all over the place across the DFW area. In some places they got it as bad as expected, some places worse, and some places got a fraction of the rain and severe weather that was seen in other spots. So while there were surely a lot of folks that didn’t show up for the show, GoodGuys shows are held rain or shine and that means there were still cars there vying for awards and looking to have fun. John Jackson, from Not Stock Photography, was on hand and got some fun video from his adventures and we appreciate it. Check out the video below and let us know what you think. Video Description: The Show must go on …….. GoodGuys Car Shows are listed as they will happen Rain or Shine, but rarely do they have a event where we have to try that out This Years 16th Annual Goodguys LMC Truck Spring Lone Star Nationals presented by Old Air Products was one of those rare events when that may have been questioned. haha Meadors Family always believed into things “You Gotta Drive ‘Em” and “The Show Must Go On” and both where on display this weekend. This was the first year trying this event as a two day event, and Friday was windy, but still a great day with a great temperature that made wandering around looking at cars almost perfect. I think this is the first time in the 10 years of owning the Heavy Light Stands I have I questioned whether or not the wind might blow them away haha. I do have to give props to all the over the top killer cars that showed up to compete for a top 12 nomination at this years event knowing that it might pour rain all weekend. This was also the first year of Goodguys adding the 4X4 of the Year competition presented by ‪@RoadsterShop‬ and Im certainly glad I didn’t have to judge that competition they were all pretty awesome. Well needless to say even though Goodguys events are Rain or Shine my photoshoots are not….. So now Im on the road trying to get five trucks and cars photographed for the upcoming GoodGuys Gazette that covers this event.(it does give me better options for photoshoot locations with cool cars/trucks this way) Hope y’all like the video, and will see you down the road JJ ‪@NotStockPhoto‬ The post Car Show Video From The GoodGuys 16th LMC Truck Spring Lonestar Nationals presented by Old Air Products appeared first on BangShift.com. 10. Tasca Racing kicked off the 2026 NHRA Mission Foods Drag Racing Series season this weekend at the historic NHRA Gatornationals at Gainesville Raceway, marking the competitive debut of Austin Prock behind the wheel of the PPG Nitro Mustang Dark Horse Funny Car. The event represented the first race for the newly formed Prock-led program at Tasca Racing, with chief Jimmy Prock leading the team alongside driver Austin Prock. Friday’s opening qualifying session saw Prock make his first official pass for Tasca Racing. Facing difficult track conditions that allowed only a handful of cars to reach the finish line, Prock guided the PPG Ford Mustang down the racetrack with a 4.836-second pass at 217.74 mph. The run required a quick pedal to recover from early tire shake but was enough to place the team sixth after the first session. “The track was tricky,” said Prock. “We had the car way peeled back just trying to go A to B. Only a few cars got down the track. I had to pedal it and it recovered quickly, so that was encouraging.” In the second qualifying session, Prock again posted a strong start with a 0.073 reaction time and a 0.901-second 60-foot time before the car lost traction and drove into tire smoke. The team lifted early and coasted to a 6.428-second run at 109.76 mph, dropping them to 12th in the field heading into Saturday. Saturday’s third session brought another early attempt to improve, with Prock leaving the line with his best reaction time of the weekend at 0.067 seconds. The PPG Mustang showed promise early before striking the tires around 200 feet into the run. After a quick pedal attempt, the car’s safety system shut the engine down, resulting in a 5.493-second pass at 156.35 mph. With one final opportunity remaining in Q4, an oil-down on the starting line complicated the situation. Teams were forced to adjust their staging position as the surface continued to present challenges. When Prock launched, the car immediately lost traction and spun the tires, resulting in a 7.562-second run at 132.74 mph. The run left Tasca Racing outside the top 16 and unable to qualify for Sunday eliminations. “It stinks, but sometimes racing goes this way,” said Prock. “Everything that could go wrong this weekend seemed to happen. But we’re not discouraged. When my dad went to Don Schumacher Racing with Jack Beckman, they didn’t qualify at their first race either and then they won the next three. That’s our plan now.” Despite the early setback, the team remains confident in the strength of the new Tasca Racing lineup as the season continues. With Prock behind the wheel and Jimmy Prock calling the shots, the team will now shift its focus to Phoenix, the next stop on the NHRA schedule as they continue developing the PPG Nitro Mustang Dark Horse Funny Car. There are a jillion examples of Corvettes at famous road courses all over the world, but Corvette drag cars came in every flavor from Funny Cars to Stock Eliminator, and just about everything in between. In the Hot Rod Hoarders video from Tommy Lee Byrd, you’ll get over an hour of awesome gassers, drag cars, customs, and more, so check it out and let us know which one of these fiberglass machines is your favorite. Video Description: Corvettes are regarded as a classic American sports car, so values are incredibly high on restored original cars. However, these cars were designed to go fast and turn heads, and that’s why I love customized Corvettes. Whether it’s a wild street machine from the ’70s, a radical drag car from the ’60s or some other crazy combination, I love a customized Corvette. This video features dozens of cool Corvettes with snippets from many shows that I’ve attended over the last few years. I picked out my favorites and put them all together into one massive Corvette video. The post CHECK OUT ALL THE WILD CORVETTES! 12. (Words and Photos by Scott Liggett) It’s been a while since we added to our small town car show series here at Bang Shift. But, after attending the Weekend Of Wheels this past Saturday, we felt we needed to share the amazing cars we saw there. This year marked the 53rd running of this show in Grand Island, NE. The first 50 years, the Tri-City Street Rods car club ran the show. When they decided 50 years was enough, one of their members took over. Danni Oberg of Knucklehead Garage took on the task and he has been doing an amazing job. If you thought a car show in a small town wouldn’t have much to see, you would be so wrong. Over 200 cars showed up, filling up the Pinnacle Bank Expo Center with some amazing, high quality builds. Check out the galleries to see what those in the middle part of Nebraska have in their collections. Check out our first gallery below and we’ll have more coming! 15. The DMP / Kentex A/Fuel Dragster and driver Kirk Wolf arrived at the NHRA Gatornationals facing a car that wanted to run – perhaps too much. A wheelie bar malfunction, tire smoke, and a stubbornly aggressive car consumed two of the three qualifying sessions before a razor-thin round-one exit ended the team’s weekend. Q1 set the tone. A wheelie bar adjustment problem destabilized the car at the hit, producing tire shake near the 100-foot mark. Wolf abandoned the pass, posting an 8.767 at 90.61 mph, good for ninth on the sheet. “We had a problem with the wheelie bar; they couldn’t get it adjusted properly,” said team owner Dean Dubbin. “It just wasn’t where we needed it to be to get the tire and clutch to work together, and it made the car too unstable leaving the line.” Q2 brought no relief. Tire smoke at the hit of the throttle produced a 25.519 at 24.43 mph, dropping Wolf to 14th. With Q3 representing the final opportunity to establish a competitive baseline, tuners Clay and Chase Copeland made significant clutch and engine changes. The result: a straight and smooth 5.377 at 265.90 mph – 11th in the final qualifying order. “It was a good, solid hit, but a little off from the performance that the car should be running in those conditions,” Dubbin said. “After what happened in Q1 and Q2, the guys made some wholesale changes to the tune-up to give us the best opportunity to get down the track and get some representative data going into eliminations. We like to be aggressive and hate to tiptoe like that, but we just had no choice.” Round one drew McKenna Bold aboard one of the Randy Meyer Racing entries. Both drivers left nearly simultaneously – reaction times separated by .001 seconds – and the race was settled at the finish line by five-thousandths of a second, with Bold’s 5.318 edging out Wolf’s 5.322. “It was a great race; everyone did a great job. We needed that run in Q1, so we had a really good platform to build from throughout the weekend,” Dubbin said. “It just took us a few runs to get squared away with what the car wanted. Unfortunately for us, the car in the other lane was just a tick faster today.” The Dubbin team has a few weeks off before returning to Concord, NC, for the NHRA 4-Wide Nationals at zMAX Dragway, April 24-26. 16. ScottRod Racing opened the 2026 NHRA Top Fuel season with a career-best 298.73-mph run during qualifying at the historic 57th Annual Amalie Motor Oil NHRA Gatornationals at Gainesville Raceway. The event marked the season opener of NHRA’s 75th anniversary year and drew a sold-out crowd to the legendary Florida facility. The independent Connecticut-based team, owned by managing partner Michelle Torromeo and driver/crew chief Scott Farley, continues to build its Top Fuel program while competing part-time against full-season teams. Torromeo has taken on an expanded role overseeing the team’s operations and race-weekend management as the program continues to grow, while Car Chief Tim Dillon has stepped further into the technical leadership of the team.“The car showed some real potential,” said Farley. “Running nearly 300 mph tells us we’re moving in the right direction.” Although the team narrowly missed the 16-car field, the weekend ended with valuable data and a clear path forward. Following qualifying, several of the sport’s respected nitro minds — including Dave Leahy, Tony Shortall, and Todd Paton — joined Farley in reviewing the car’s electronic systems to determine what limited the dragster’s performance. By Sunday, the group had identified the underlying issue. “That’s one of the things that makes this sport special,” said Farley. “There are a lot of smart people in this pit area, and when everyone starts looking at the data together you can usually find the answer.” With the issue identified, ScottRod Racing now turns its focus to its next scheduled national event. “We learned a lot this weekend,” said Torromeo. “Opening the season at the Gatornationals during NHRA’s 75th anniversary was special for us. Now we apply what we learned and come back ready to make the show.” Fans can follow ScottRod Racing throughout the 2026 season by visiting www.scottfarley.com.
