The first quarter of 2026 was a really bad one for Stellantis EV sales in the United States amid the EV retreat in the market. Electric vehicle sales declined across the board particularly after the third quarter of 2025 when the EV federal tax credit was axed, and the trend continued in Q1 this year, with Stellantis seeing some dramatic declines. While the report notes that the automaker’s overall sales rose 4% over the first quarter of 2025, the Dodge Charger Daytona, Jeep Wagoneer S and Fiat

An Icon May Be Rewritten A report from GM Authority states that General Motors has approved a replacement for the Chevrolet Camaro. Few details have been disclosed, but the next-generation model is reportedly expected to ride on the Alpha platform, which also underpins the Cadillac CT5 and other rear-drive sedans. With that said, the Camaro, if the reports are accurate, would enter its seventh generation and likely avoid returning as a crossover, a body type some may expect, given the strong dem

Airbags save thousands of lives per year in car crashes, with the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) reporting that 4,330 lives were saved by frontal airbags in 2019 alone. So, when airbags are found to be faulty, a recall typically follows quickly. That’s the case for two Ford models—the Bronco Sport SUV and Maverick pickup truck—which have been found to have potentially faulty front passenger airbags. The issue appears to be with a series of sensors rather than the airbag unit itsel

Toyota introduced the downsized Land Cruiser in the U.S. for the 2024 model year, and it’s now ready for a few gentle updates for 2027. A lot smaller and more efficient than the old one, the latest Land Cruiser is still a formidable off-roader. Sales are down by 47.6% in 2026 so far, though, so Toyota will be hoping that some new features for 2027 can attract buyers to this Ford Bronco competitor. A small price increase accompanies the updates, but Toyota has retained the simple two-trim lineup.

I’ve been fortunate enough to be around a lot of cool race engines over the years, and a handful of them have had very particular startup procedures. A Dodge NASCAR R5P7 for example that came with very explicit instructions as to how to start it. It needed to be preheated before startup and had a whole procedure. Then there was an Indy car engine that was in a land speed car. That bad boy needed to be preheated as well, and had a whole warmup procedure once it was started as well. So I can only

Data from AAA shows that gas has cracked $4.00 per gallon in the United States on average. In the trailing days of March, the average price for a gallon of gasoline was $3.990, already up more than a dollar from the month prior. The last time prices were so high was in August, 2022. The change in gas prices is somewhat seasonal: as the weather warms, more people take to the roads for fun rather than just commuting on them. However, the real spike is as a result of the American war on Iran. Price

Tesla’s Inventory Problem Is Real Tesla is facing an uncomfortable reality. In the first quarter of 2026, the automaker produced over 50,000 more vehicles than it sold, marking the largest production-to-delivery gap in its history. According to figures cited by USA TODAY, Tesla built 408,386 vehicles but delivered only 358,023 units. That surplus now sits in lots and storage facilities, a stark contrast to the brand’s once razor-sharp inventory control. This imbalance comes at a time when Tesla

The Glory Days Some automotive brands build their legacy on the racetrack; the industry is filled with prominent brands like Ferrari, Alfa Romeo, Maserati, Jaguar, and many more that, apart from building road cars, gained fame by competing in the biggest races in the '50s, '60s, and '70s. Aston Martinenjoys the same racing heritage as the above-mentioned brands, having won notable races in Le Mans throughout its history. As a celebration of that proud racing story, a couple of years ago, Aston M

It appears that Mazda isn't one of the automakers considering anything but big screens, with Mazda Motor Europe Design Director Jo Stenuit telling Autoweek that large screens provide more flexibility and may even contribute to a better driving experience. He told the Dutch publication that large screens create more opportuniti

Last week’s reveal of the reinvented Freelander brand in China was quite intriguing, not only because it was done rather quietly and without prior notice, but also because it involved a popular entry-level Land Rover nameplate that is being brought back as something quite different from before. Ford reported first-quarter U.S. vehicle sales a few days ago, and across all body styles in the manufacturer’s lineup, trucks saw the steepest year-on-year decline at 11.3%. This was primarily due to the big-selling F-Series, which saw sales drop by 16%, but the Maverick and heavy trucks also dropped in sales. The Ford Ranger was the outlier, though, and one particular variant of this pickup defied the automaker’s overall decline in truck sales to start 2026. It also happens to be one of the mo
