Hennessey is marking 250 years of the United States of America with something excessive and restrained all at once. It's called the VelociRaptor 1200 F-250, and as the name indicates, it's based on a Ford F-250 Lariat with the available 6.7-liter High Output V8 Turbo Diesel engine, the highest-performing engine you can get with the truck at 500 horsepower and (and this is the important part), 1,200 lb-ft of torque from just 1,600 rpm. That's enough even for the Texan tuner, which held back on fi

So now we have carmakers jacking up prices of new cars in ways that can only be termed egregious. This might come across as surprising, but OEMs are increasing the destination and delivery charges, inflating the actual window sticker, otherwise called the vehicle’s sticker price or its MSRP. The information comes courtesy of the Detroit Free Press, stating that Chevrolet, Ford and Ram have all increased their destination charge from $1,995 last year to $2,595 for most of their 2025 and 2026 line

After an extended period of turmoil, Nissan is finally showing signs of a comeback, cutting underperforming models and launching new ones that should hold strong appeal. Among them is a new Xterra SUV, and Nissan has confirmed it will cost less than $40,000, making it a serious contender in the space occupied by the Ford Bronco and Jeep Wrangler. According to CarBuzz, Nissan Americas boss Christian Meunier said, "We're at a time when the average transaction price in the U.S. is $48,000, and it's

Nissan e-Power Hybrid: A Different Kind of Electrification Nissan invited a group of media and influencers to Palm Springs for a mixture of destination and automotive coverage. The "Loud Value" event took place over the weekend, and was well received by media. During that visit, we were given access to the Nissan Qashqai, a vehicle not currently sold in the United States. More importantly, it came equipped with the company’s e-Power hybrid system.

With both gas and all-electric versions now sharing the Charger name, the 2026 lineup is more complicated than Dodge buyers are used to. Besides the choice of 2-Door and 4-Door body styles, buyers now also have the options of gas or all-electric powertrains, some of which carry the same trim level names and have identical designs. For example, there’s the gas-powered Scat Pack and the all-electric Daytona Scat Pack. While the Daytona name is only used by all-electric variants, not all buyers are

A PDM, or Power Distribution Module, is like a smart fuse panel. They can not only control the application of power to certain circuits, but can do so based on user defined parameters. I’m not going to get into the meat and potatoes of PDM in the writeup though because the video covers that to help you decide which one of these is the correct module for your project. Make no mistake, with the right PDM and the right configuration, the resulting convenience and performance of your electrical syst

I am willing to bet that there probably isn’t anyone who’s cut more stuff off of Freiburger’s Muscle Truck than I have. Since I was there for the original build, as part of our CarJunkieTV website, I can tell you a lot about what it took to build this thing the first time so we could drive it cross country and show it off at the LSX Shootout in Memphis in 2008. There is a ton that has gone into this truck over the years, but one of the funniest things that I remember was the perfect floors. When

I’ve wanted to buy a giant old vise and restore it for years. A new big vise is super expensive, and as much as I’d worship a Fireball Tools Hardtail vise for my shop, I can’t afford them. They do have some other reasonably priced options, and I’ll probably get one at some point, but the idea of restoring something big and old still appeals to me. What do you guys think? Would you restore an old vise for your shop? Or is it just easier to go buy something and call it a day? Video Description:

You have to love the idea of Disco Dean and Kye Kelley as teammates for the 2.4 Hours of LeMullets in Florida. If you aren’t familiar with this race, it is a 2.4 hour long endurance race that is held at Cleetus McFarland’s Freedom Factory in Bradenton Florida. For the race, Cleetus invites a bunch of folks to come out and race in pretty comparable Ford Crown Victorias. Each of them is race ready when the teams arrive, with the exception of some of their own “visual customization”. So what did Ky

Big Presence, Divisive Face Hyundai has doubled down on bold design lately, and the latest Palisade is the clearest example yet. The new model stands tall, stretches wide, and makes no apologies for its size. Up front, the grille takes over the entire face – some call it a cheese grater – and it sparks strong opinions. One thing is certain: the Palisade owns the road. It stands out in traffic and looks every bit the flagship SUV. But what if its presence is translated into a pickup truck? A digi

The Plot Thickens Rumors about the Chevrolet C8 Corvette receiving a Grand Sport trim for the 2027 model year have been circulating for some time. Recent hints continue to surface, with the latest coming from a spy shot taken by @njp_moto on California’s Angeles Crest Highway, showing two examples that appear to be prepped for a shoot. The area was blocked off by other vehicles, limiting the view to just a brief glimpse of the Corvettes. Still, that may be enough to suggest the Corvette Grand Sp

I love factory tours and how it’s made videos. I remember as a kid going on the brewery tour at Olympia Brewing, and also the Hershey chocolate factory. There were also tractor factories and auto manufacturers are more. It seems like there are a lot less of those available nowadays, but luckily there are fun videos that are still available from a lot of manufacturers. So, you can imagine my excitement when I saw that Jason and the crew at Fireball Tools had posted up a video on just what goes in

Shelby EV Loses Charge Since the U.S. electric vehicle market shifted in 2025, the slowdown has become hard to ignore, and it appears to be reflected in the new prices for the Shelby Mustang Mach-E offered by rental company Hertz. A report from Carscoops shows that the special-edition Ford EV is now priced at around $40,000, about $25,000 less than when the performance-themed models were released in 2024. Hertz has long offered special-edition Mustangs through its “Rent-A-Racer” program, with th

If you are new around there then you might not know that we seriously dig Formula Off-Road racing here at BANGshift.com. This is high flying, loud, and intense racing that involves what look to be impossible hillclimbs, usually on giant courses made from pea gravel or something similar. It’s intense, the cars often end up upside down or rolling over down a hill. They end up rightside up on their own sometimes, but regardless the action is fun and kind of nuts. High prices may influence a sales dip, experts warn. According to a new report published in the Los Angeles Times, auto industry experts warn that the issue of affordability will be a significant factor affecting new car sales, as high price tags of new vehicles deter middle-income buyers away from new-vehicle purchases. During a December press call attended by the publication, Charlie Chesbrough, a senior economist at auto industry researcher Cox Automotive, warned that "a lack of momentum head

I’ve known Alan Johnson for a while now. I’ve realized lately that whenyou get my age, in this industry, it means that you get to know people for way longer than you ever expect when you first meet them. I met Alan and Angie Johnson at a Goodguys Show or Power Tour at some point in the mid to late 2000s and have seen them at everything from Goodguys to Bonneville to Drag Week since. They build great cars, are as into them as any of their customers, and they’re just nice people. And while they do

It’s never been easier to LS or LT swap something, and there are a ton of companies making parts. Engine mounts, gotta be 100 companies making them. Headers, probably 100 as well. Brackets, transmission mounts, accessory drives? Yep, they gottem. But one of the most annoying things about performing a swap is hunting to find the combinations that will fit in your ride. It can be overwhelming, because the only way to find out what works is to ask a jillion folks who’ve already done it to see what
