This was in pretty good shape when I picked it up but I still poured a bunch of money into it. Loved the original houndstooth interior. Miss this truck a ton. So real
  2. Making Breakfast while out camping on the trails can be tough. Here is a pretty easy one to try. Cut the bread into 3/4" - 1” thick slices. Beat the eggs first in a bowl large enough to accommodate a slice of the bread. Then add milk, cinnamon, nutmeg, vanilla, and sugar together, until thoroughly mixed. Heat 4 tablespoon butter in a skillet over medium heat. Dip a slice of bread in the egg and milk mixture and let it soak for about 10 seconds on each side. Let the excess drip off, sprinkle each side with additional sugar, and then fry it in the skillet until golden and crispy on each side, about 3 minutes per side. Repeat with the rest of the bread, adding more butter to the skillet as needed. Serve with maple syrup, fresh fruit, and a cup of hot coffee. Enjoy!

  4. Now I prefer to cook my wings on the grill but sometimes ice or snow or freezing temps have be locked inside so this recipe still gets me some decent wings. I love some crispy chicken wings but the grease goes straight to my beer belly. Here is a way to keep that grease outta the meal Instructions Adjust oven rack to upper-middle position and preheat over to 450 degrees Line a rimmed baking sheet with aluminum foil and set a heat-proof wire rack inside Pat dry chicken wings liberally with paper towels, squeezing out as much mositure as you can. Transfer them to a bowl. In a small bowl, combine the baking powder, garlic powder, salt and pepper together, whisking well to combine, and sprinkle the mixture over the wings. Toss wings through the baking powder mixture until evenly coated. Arrange on rack, leaving about 1-inch of space between each wing Bake for 30minutes; flip and continue to cook until crisp and golden brown (about 20-30 minutes longer), until crispy. While wings are cooking, whisk together hot sauce, butter and sugar(honey). Toss wings through the sauce to evenly coat. Serve Wings immediately.

These are the most delicious ribs. I have tried many many different ways of making ribs but this is by far my favorite. Instructions Get charcoal grill/smoker setup with indirect heat to a temp of 300 Combine all ingredients in a small bowl Remove membrane from the ribs and rub seasoning to both sides Put the ribs on a rib rack with bone side down and cook for 1 hour Flip ribs and rotate 180 and cook for another hour Cover the Ribs with preserves (its like jelly).. if you can find a salted carmel peach preserves it works best then wrap "tightly" in foil (you don't want any gaps in the foil or you will end up steaming the ribs) Cook for 30min Unwrap ribs and place directly on grill for final 15minutes to let the preserves tighten up. Remove from grill and let sit for 5-10minutes.
  6. Some of us with K5’s would like to show the everyday Jeep’s that we can hang with them on the trails but our biggest issue is we are so much bigger than they are. So stock JK vs stock K5 (2nd gen) Length: 13.8 ft vs 16.1ft (diff 2.5 ft) Width: 6.2 ft vs 6.6 ft (diff 4″) Height: 5.11 ft vs 6.2 ft (diff 3″) Wheelbase: 7.11 ft vs 8.9 ft (diff 10″) so not a HUGE difference but none the less the K5 is bigger but the huge difference is.. they aren’t nearly as common. Everyone can go buy a jeep done and ready to go on the trails. It’s getting harder and harder to find a K5 thats in good condition and once you do, parts are getting harder and harder to find. Most offroad supply stores are focused 99% on new Jeeps. Why? Because everyone has one… not very unique.
  7. A HUGE thanks to my dad and my oldest son Zack for helping me remove the bed and then cab of the truck. So much spray foam and rusted bolts. Lots of grinding and torch use. What’s left? Remove Chevy 400 engine, 350 turbo trans (bad), transfer case and front clip. Then, media blast frame and axles Then, paint frame (probably por-15)
  8. Was successful removing rear fenders yesterday in prep for taking bed and cab off today. We’ll see how that goes
  9. Sooooooo the CAB from Desert Valley Auto shows up on the roof of a car hauler trailer with no way to remove it. S&S transport pissed me off. Another $100 to pay 6 guys to carry the cab down the ramp. Next bit of BS is brought to you by Desert Valley Auto. You see the pictures above that they sold me on the cab. I don’t see the drywall molding for rockers or the bottom of the cab that is rotted out. All this money I paid for this cab and it doesn't even come with a frickin title? Well I am hoping the VIN is still intact on the body so I can order a new title for it. So I’m in this for $1500.. just paid MMC $300-500 for a media blast of the cab so we can see what is good and what needs to be replaced. Suppose to get picked up Monday for that. Not sure how long it will take.
