The annual PEAK® and John Force Race Down the Track sweepstakes has attracted thousands of fans, of all generations. A notable moment came in 2023 when PEAK® was contacted by a daughter on behalf of her recently deceased father, Stan Eagle, who was a lifelong John Force fan. PEAK answered the call and added her father’s name, in memoriam, on John Force’s hood for the 2023 NHRA finals, providing a heartfelt moment for Stan’s daughter and family. Due to inclement weather, the 2025 NHRA Finals were rained out and the 2025 Race Down The Track winners were unable to make their scheduled runs. That is about to change. The 2025 Race Down The Track winners will now be featured on the PEAK® Funny Car at the 2026 NHRA Winternationals in Pomona, California, April 9–12, where they will officially get their opportunity to go 330 miles per hour down the track. PEAK® is proud to offer this opportunity as a thank you to its #PEAKsquad and all its loyal customers. *No purchase necessary for entry; purchase of a PEAK® product will not increase the odds of winning. Odds of winning will depend on the total number of entries received. Void where prohibited. 6. Bruno Massel and Stockseth Racing have announced a renewed partnership for the 2026 NHRA season that will once again feature Outlaw Light Beer branding on Massel’s race car, made possible through the continued support of Mark Stockseth. Stockseth previously sponsored Massel’s Pro Stock campaigns during the 2020 and 2021 NHRA seasons. In 2024, Stockseth assembled a program that brought Outlaw Light Beer into NHRA Pro Stock competition for the first time with Jeg Coughlin Jr. and Jerry Tucker, before expanding the partnership to include Massel and his Comp Eliminator program. That partnership delivered immediate results, as Massel captured his 19th NHRA National Event victory at the NHRA Brainerd Nationals – the first event in which he carried the Outlaw Light Beer logo. Following that success, Stockseth has once again stepped forward in 2026 to continue the relationship, ensuring Outlaw Light Beer remains part of Massel’s NHRA Comp Eliminator program. “I’m thrilled to work with Mark and the folks at Outlaw Beer once again,” said Massel. “Over the years, Stockseth racing has played an integral role in supporting the likes of Elite Motorsports, Matt and Angie Smith, and Rickie Smith. To be a part of the inner circle is pretty cool to say the least!” Massel is planning to compete at a select number of National events in 2026 that will kick off at his hometown race, the Route 66 Nationals just outside of Chicago. 7. Here’s our last gallery from LST 2026! Man what a great show this is. I hope all of you at home put it on your list for 2027! If you missed our previous galleries, don’t worry because we’ve got a link below for you to check out. If you’ve been waiting for the next one, here it is. (Words and Photos by Chad Reynolds) I hit the Lone Star Throwdown in Conroe Texas this weekend and as usual was blown away by the turnout of great trucks. When I arrived at the just after it opened, I have to admit I was a bit worried. The place was not full. Not by a long shot. Now we normally get down here to the show an hour or so later, so I was trying to convince myself it was going to be okay, but I wasn’t doing a very good job of it. That was until about 10, when a definite increase in the hum around the places started happening and cruise traffic started really increasing. By the time I left the show a few hours later it was hopping as usual. And while the morning started off chilly and overcast, the grounds were in great shape with little or no wet spots from the showers that were expected Friday. And by 10 am I had to take my hoodie off because it was just too warm. It was great weather for a truck show friends. The food trucks were slinging snacks, although I didn’t see the hot chocolate ans s’mores folks from last year that made a killing. It really was a great day at the show. Lone Star Throwdown, or LST as it’s often referred to, is one of the premier custom truck shows in the country, and it happens rain or shine. This show is always one of my favorites. It draws folks from all over the country, along with Canada and Mexico. In 2027 you’ll find us on site with the OBS Suburban project you guys don’t know about yet. And maybe a merch stand, who knows. Here is our seventh gallery of photos, with more coming over the next several days. Check back tomorrow for more! 9. Here we go! NHRA Lucas Oil Drag Racing is some of the finest on the planet. Sportsman Drag Racing is the lifeblood of drag racing, drag strips, and the hobby in general, so when NHRA announced that they were sharing a complete highlights video from this past weekend’s Gatornationals in Florida, we were excited. If you are fan of NHRA Lucas Oil Drag Racing, then watch this. Video Description: In addition to the exciting Mission Drag Racing Series action at the season-opening Amalie Motor Oil NHRA Gatornationals, nine winners were also crowned in the Lucas Oil classes, led by Super Comp champ Kelly Kundratic, who scored the 400th win by a female in NHRA national event competition. After scoring his first Top Alcohol Dragster win late last season, Jamie Noonan didn’t wait long to add a second victory as the alcohol-class engine builder powered to victory over Anthony Troyer in a title 5.24 to 5.25 final-round clash. Five-time and reigning Top Alcohol Funny Car world champ Sean Bellemeur scored his 49th career win, tying the great Don Prudhomme and Eddie Krawiec and moving to within one win of becoming just the 26th driver to record 50 or more wins, scoring a strong win over past U.S. Nationals champ Chris Foster, 5.43 to 5.48. 2023 Super Stock world champ Peter D’Agnolo scored his second career Comp win and his seventh victory overall, driving his E/SMA ’10 Cobalt to a .003-launched (-.49) 8.41 to chase down No. 1 qualifier Matthew Alvey’s better-but-later (-.53) 8.58. For the 109th time in his amazing career, Dan Fletcher scored an NHRA national event victory. Fletcher drove his Micro Strategies Camaro to the Super Stock title in a double-breakout final against Kent Hanley. Jeff Adkinson used a solid driving performance to claim the sixth win of his career. Adkinson, who was .030 or better on the Tree every round, topped Jim Marshall in the Stock final round with a 9.138 against his 9.15 dial. Kelly Kundratic scored the milestone 400th national event win for a female racer with her breakthrough Super Comp victory in Gainesville. Kundratic, the 107th woman in NHRA history to win a national event, collected the victory on Tim Millwood’s narrow -.003 foul start. Super Gas winner Jason Dewitt backed up his breakthrough first victory from last year’s Gatornationals, winning a double-breakout final-round bout with seven-time tour winner Steven Furr, 9.875 to 9.872. After several near misses, Jackie Bennett claimed his first national event title in Right Trailers Top Dragster by topping Holden Laris in the final round. Bennett kicked off the double-breakout final with a nearly perfect .002 light. A Top 10 finisher the last two years, James Hinkle ran his career record to a perfect 5-0 after beating Bruce Thaxton in the Right Trailers Top Sportsman final. Hinkle finished the job with a 7.301 against his 7.28 dial. 12. In the 1980s and 1990s, there were a ton of custom truck mods involving head lights and tail lights. A couple of the more well known were using Nissan Maxima lights in Nissan 720 pickups and Ford Escort headlights in Mazda B-Series. This was well before people started doing Escalade front clips on OBS trucks and frenched Caddy tail lights out back. There are plenty of others, but the Nissans and Mazdas were real popular at the time so there is a lot that folks were doing to them back then. So when we saw that Brian Jendro, from Jendro’s Chop Shop, was doing a Maxima headlights conversion on a 720 pickup we knew we had to share. Have you seen one done before? Do you remember seeing an Escort light conversion on a Mazda? Check out the Maxima headlight conversion below.
