  2. Drag Illustrated and No Limit Drag Racing are once again bridging the gap between real-world competition and digital horsepower – this time with a major expansion to an already powerful tradition. Beginning in 2026, the points champion of the Lil’ Gangstas Championship Series presented by Melling Performance at the Drag Illustrated Winter Series will be added directly into the No Limit Drag Racing video game, giving fans around the world the opportunity to race the very car that conquered one of the most competitive grassroots battlegrounds in doorslammer drag racing. The initiative builds on a partnership that began at the 2023 World Series of Pro Mod, when Spencer Hyde’s championship-winning machine was immortalized in the massively popular game and made available for download and purchase. Since then, each World Series of Pro Mod winner has earned the same distinction – blending championship glory with global digital exposure. Now, the spotlight expands. “For the fourth consecutive year, No Limit Drag Racing will be adding the winner of Drag Illustrated’s World Series of Pro Mod directly into the game – cementing our commitment to bringing real-world champions into the gaming spotlight,” said Paul Dunlop of No Limit Drag Racing. “And this year we’re turning it up even more. In 2026, we’re expanding that commitment even further by also adding the Lil’ Gangstas – Drag Illustrated Winter Series Points Champion to No Limit Drag Racing. Our goal has always been to connect the real drag racing world with our global gaming audience, and there’s no better way to do that than by immortalizing the sport’s top champions inside the game.” The Lil’ Gangstas category has quickly become one of the most exciting and emotionally charged eliminators of the Drag Illustrated Winter Series. Built on passion, personality, and relentless competition, the class embodies the spirit of grassroots drag racing while delivering headline-level performances on the sport’s biggest stages. For Drag Illustrated founder and Winter Series promoter Wes Buck, the partnership represents something bigger than just adding another car to a game. “This is about validation,” Buck said. “To see our champions – in Pro Mod and now Lil’ Gangstas – live on inside a game played by racers and fans all over the world is incredibly meaningful. We value this partnership tremendously because it extends the reach of what we’re building far beyond the racetrack. It allows fans to actually strap in and race the same cars they watch in the winner’s circle at the Winter Series. That creates a deeper connection, a richer experience, and it gives our racers another layer of recognition they’ve absolutely earned.” By integrating Winter Series champions into the gaming world, No Limit Drag Racing continues to strengthen its position as the digital home for drag racing enthusiasts, while Drag Illustrated further solidifies its role as a tastemaker and innovator within the sport. From the starting line at Bradenton Motorsports Park to the screens of players across the globe, the road to immortality now runs through both asphalt and pixels. The 2025/2026 Drag Illustrated Winter Series presented by J&A Service culminates February 26-28 at the World Series of Pro Mod presented by Red Line Oil, where the next Lil’ Gangstas Points Champion will race not only for prestige and prize money – but for a permanent place inside one of drag racing’s most popular video games. 3. Pro Modified standout rookie and NHRA Top Fuel driver Jacob McNeal has been officially named by Jeff Diehl Racing as their Nitro Funny Car driver to compete for a points championship in the 2026 IHRA eight-race points series. Legendary Nitro Funny Car driver/owner Jeff “The Surfer” Diehl will continue running at select NHRA races as well as the IHRA Triple Crown series. McNeal will bring his forward-focused discipline and intensity to competing in Nitro Funny Car, along with a deep respect for the equipment and team behind it. “I’ve worked hard to put myself in a position to compete at this level, and teaming up with Jeff in Funny Car is the next step,” said McNeal. “Nitro is unforgiving – you either execute or you don’t – and I thrive in that environment. I’m proud to keep our Pro Mod program aggressive while we go all-in on chasing the IHRA championship.” Jeff Diehl, from Monterey, California, widely known throughout the sport as “The Nitro Surfer,” along with his wife, Leeza “GoGo” Diehl, have built one of drag racing’s most respected independent operations together over the last 25 years. The Diehl program is recognized across the motorsports community for its authenticity, perseverance, style and unwavering dedication to Nitro Funny Car racing. “Jacob represents where the team is headed,” Diehl said. “He brings professionalism and fresh talent behind the wheel. Leeza and I are proud of where our team has been and fired up about where it’s headed.” “This team is a tight family unit,” added Leeza. “Jacob understands the responsibility that comes with a seat on our team and we are excited to go racing together.” McNeal, who finished second in points during his 2025 rookie season in Pro Mod running the Midwest Drag Racing Series, says he’s not giving up on the class that got him here. He’ll be pulling double duty, piloting his Larry Jeffers-built, screw-blown ’71 Cuda for the full IHRA season alongside Diehl’s Funny Car. He will also compete at select NHRA events in Funny Car and MWDRS races in Pro Mod. “Getting to run Funny Car with Jeff while still hammering down in Pro Mod is about as good as it gets,” said McNeal. “That’s a dream season right there. Pro Mod is home for me. That’s where I’ve built my edge, learned how to grind rounds out, and race heads-up with some of the baddest guys in the sport. Funny Car is a whole different animal, and I love that challenge too. Pro Mod keeps me sharp and aggressive, and Nitro Funny Car is just flat-out wild. We’re going to push hard in both lanes and chase that IHRA championship like we mean it.” Jeff Diehl Racing will enter the 2026 IHRA season with an elevated drive, blending legacy and momentum as they aim to deliver powerful performances, energize fans, and write the next chapter of their program. 13. I have to give credit to Rivian, because they have created new car, suv, and truck models that stand out and are easy to identify as a Rivian. But it’s their unique and creative features that I really like. If you haven’t seen one in person, or haven’t seen their cross body storage compartments in photos and video, you are missing out. They have flipped the script on what the standard features in trucks and suvs are, and have even inspired some of the bigger brands with their offerings. Video Description: Rivian’s newest SUV is smaller, lighter, and far more affordable — but does it still feel like a Rivian? We take an early first drive of the Rivian R2 prototype, putting it through its paces on California highways and rough off-road terrain near Rivian’s headquarters in Irvine. With 656 horsepower, a new AWD setup, and a unibody construction, the R2 promises the same adventure-ready DNA as the R1 in a more accessible package. We dig into how Rivian cut weight and cost, how the suspension and drive modes behave on road, and whether the R2 still delivers the off-road capability Rivian is known for. 18. Blown nitro, turbo alcohol, turbo nitro—the STM Powersports Snow Outlaws snowmobile drag racing series has them all and will unleash the fury February 13-14! The St. Germain Shootout presented by Wisconsin’s St. Germain Chamber of Commerce will see Outlaw, Pro Xtreme 55, and Pro Modified sleds launching with big wheelies and huge roostertails on the purpose-built, 500-foot, snow-packed racing surface. Your access to this action is on West Bay of Little St. Germain Lake, with Friday night timed runs under the lights at 6:00 pm, 7:00 pm, and 8:00 pm. Saturday’s eliminations start at noon with the finals scheduled for 4:00 pm. Best of all, Snow Outlaws races are always FREE for spectators! Weather truncated last year’s season at the end and this year’s at the beginning, as the Rice Lake season opener was cancelled for lack of what the Southern states had too much of—snow. Matt Musselman collected last year’s Outlaw championship with just one win on his retro “Sno-Twister” blown nitro Hypersports sled, tuned by Glenn Hall and Jack Romine. Alec Gibas picked up the other win on his similar “Hulk” sled. Both will be back and looking to take the win at St. Germain. But challenges are everywhere. 2024 Outlaw champion Dominick Ernst and the “Eagle-1”—owned by Snow Outlaws’ own Chad and Jenny Nyhus—struggled to adapt to its new blown nitro combination last year but will be on-point at St. Germain. Jeff Ratzlaff’s OG “The Grinch” was the first Hypersports-built screw-supercharged nitro Outlaw sled. Now in its third generation, tuner Howard Haack and rider Mike Allen will have The Grinch hunting for the stripe. “Black Mamba”—owned and tuned by Aaron Casler and ridden by Ethan Erhardt—are up for the challenge, while Tyson Enerson and Jon Lentzkow move up in class for Outlaw glory. All of these sleds—as well as many Pro Xtreme 55 mounts—have been shortened to reflect new 159 inch track rules. One of those sleds that shortened in the off-season is former Pro Xtreme 55 champ Brian Sullivan. His “John Deere” Hypersports HRC-2 is ready to shred the snow. Ryan Santry’s Hypersports Screaming Yellow Apex Yamaha launched crowd-pleasing wheelies each round on the way to winning at Rice Lake last year, then slowed as it tamed its launches in race two. Will the combo find a successful middle ground at St. Germain? Kyle Baynes won Pro Mod last year at Rice Lake, beating Tyler Stelton in a one-video-frame redlight final. But Baynes is swearing off the snow in 2026 and concentrating on other surfaces. Jesse Bruns won Pro Mod at Spirit Lake against 2-stroker Louis Goldbach. Expect them and Casey Rosenbrook, Devin Kirane and more to face starter Sam Shackleton’s flashlight at St. Germain. Chad and Jenny Nyhus and the whole Snow Outlaws crew invite everyone out to St. Germain for the baddest racing on snow or anything else! There’s no better Valentines Day aphrodisiac than the cackling smell of nitro in the Wisconsin air! The post Snow Outlaws set to GO at St. Germain! first appeared on Drag Illustrated. 21. Winner winner chicken dinner will be a reality for the Southeast Gassers Association in 2026 with newly formed partnership with Wings Etc. Grill & Pub of Boiling Springs, South Carolina. Wings Etc. is proud to partner with SEGA for race weekend streaming and beyond. With a strong history in motorsports – from local Upstate South Carolina events to the NASCAR O’Reilly Series – Wings Etc. brings authentic racing enthusiasm to the partnership. As SEGA’s official “Wings and More” destination, the fans and winners of SEGA drag racing can celebrate their victories with the flavors they love. Scott McFalls, the Wings Etc. Grill & Pub franchise proprietor for the Boiling Springs location, which is nestled north of Spartanburg above Interstate 85, is no stranger to SEGA drag racing. McFalls already serves as a brand partner on Ernie Smith’s Saturday Night Special four-door Chevy gasser. On the matter of expanded branding with SEGA, Scott stated, “They’re local! There are several drivers I know personally who came in and supported us before I even really knew who the Gassers were. I’ve always wanted to support local, especially people who are supporting me as well.” The local touch is important to Mr. McFalls in his partnerships and certainly in his business. He believes that local flair is a distinct factor of his Wings ETC within the competitive wings eatery scene. “We try to make it feel as local as possible. When people come in, you feel like you’re hanging out with friends — not like you’re in a big corporate place”, is Scott’s examination on his local wing scarfing establishment. With local service in mind, Wings Etc. Grill & Pub of Boiling Springs strives to serve nearly every demographic of its local population just as good and better than its big corporate counterparts. There is a separate family side with fewer advertisements for alcohol, while still set in a fan encouraging sports bar atmosphere. You have the bar side with plenty of bar seating, high top tables, and a myriad of options on tap with expertly prepared drinks. The last division is an outdoor covered patio with a stage for live performances. With TVs at every turn, Wings Etc. is the ultimate spot to catch all the action. Guests can enjoy multiple weekly events, including trivia nights and even karaoke, making it more than just a place to eat—it’s a hub for fun and entertainment. For the family outing, guys’ trip to catch the game, or a ladies’ night, Wings Etc. is the place to be in Boiling Springs and the surrounding areas of Upstate South Carolina. On the menu, you’ll find something that satisfies nearly any craving and taste. Certainly, the wings with multiple flavor options, along with other chicken options such as tenders, wraps, and chicken sandwiches. Burgers like “The Big Nasty” are a popular order, and you can even request “Buffalo Chicken Mac” – don’t forget the pulled pork sandwich “HAWGZILLA.” There is lighter fare, such as salads and dessert options that include funnel cake fries. They are delivering on their name – Wings Etc. When it is a SEGA race weekend, and you’re not at the track, make sure to stop in at Wings Etc. Grill & Pub in Boiling Springs. Order up wings, a burger, or one of the salads. Enjoy a fine soft drink or a cold one. All the while looking up to more than one of the many TVs for your viewing pleasure and catch Southeast Gassers Association action streamed. Gassers and wings for the win! 23. GAINESVILLE, Fla. – To start the 75th anniversary celebration, NHRA will open the NHRA Mission Foods Drag Racing Series season in grand style at famed Gainesville Raceway for the 57th annual Amalie Motor Oil NHRA Gatornationals on March 5-8. NHRA will pay homage to some of its legendary names during the milestone year, starting in Gainesville with appearances from icons like Kenny Bernstein, Joe Amato, Don Prudhomme, Shirley Muldowney, Darrell Gwynn and drag racing pioneer “Big Daddy” Don Garlits at the famed venue. Along with that, Garlits’ popular “Swamp Rat Alley” will return for the weekend, featuring a trio of historic Garlits cars (Swamp Rat 1-B, Swamp Rat 8 and Swamp Rat 28A). Each played a big role in NHRA’s 75 years, including these memorable highlights: Swamp Rat 1-B: Swamp Rat 1-B set a new speed record of 182.54 mph in Houston on June 10, 1959. Garlits had a massive fire in the car just 10 days later, but it was repaired and continued to set speed marks. Top speed: 204.54 mph Low elapsed time: 8.23-seconds Swamp Rat 8: This legendary dragster debuted at Bakersfield in one of the largest Top Fuel fields in history (120 entries). After some initial struggle, the car impressed during the 1965 season, posting big numbers after Garlits made some tuning adjustments. Top Speed: 208.32 mph Low elapsed time: 7.55 Swamp Rat 28 A: Built as a lightweight, high-gear-only Top Fuel car, Garlits never found much success with it. He saved all the parts and pieces from the original car and recreated it, with a running model now at the Motorsports Hall of Fame in Daytona Beach. Top Speed: 255.54 mph Low elapsed time: 5.92 All the current stars of the Mission Foods Drag Racing Series will make their 2026 debut at the Amalie Motor Oil NHRA Gatornationals for the chance to win the coveted NHRA 75th anniversary Diamond Wally. Sportsman drivers in the Lucas Oil Drag Racing Series will also be competing for their chance at a Diamond Wally, as well as competitors in the NHRA Pro Mod Series and Flexjet Factory Stock Showdown. Top Fuel drivers will have a chance at a double-up with the return of the NHRA Top Fuel All-Star Callout. The top eight drivers from last season’s qualifying efforts will compete in the unique callout-style race, with reigning champion Doug Kalitta taking his pick of the field as he looks for a second straight Callout win as well. Last year, Antron Brown (Top Fuel), Chad Green (Funny Car), Dallas Glenn (Pro Stock) and Gaige Herrera (Pro Stock Motorcycle) all won on the hallowed grounds of Gainesville Raceway to open the year. This year’s race will again be broadcast on FS1, including eliminations at 12 p.m. ET on Sunday, March 8. Brown, a four-time Top Fuel world champ, collected his second Amalie Motor Oil NHRA Gatornationals win last season when he defeated Shawn Langdon in the final round. Throughout a competitive season, it was Top Fuel veteran Kalitta who secured his second world title at the conclusion of 2025. Others to watch in Gainesville will be Justin Ashley, Clay Millican and motorsports legend Tony Stewart, as well as the return of his wife, 12-time race winner Leah Pruett. Chad Green won his second career Funny Car race last season, beating three-time world champion Ron Capps. Two-time reigning champion Austin Prock, who earned nine wins throughout the year, dominated the year and will be looking for his first win in Gainesville. After Prock’s dramatic offseason departure from John Force Racing, multi-time champions Matt Hagan, Jack Beckman and Cruz Pedregon, as well as Daniel Wilkerson and Jordan Vandergriff, will be eager to challenge the reigning champ. The 2025 Pro Stock season was dominated by KB Titan Racing, with standout star Dallas Glenn earning his first world title. His championship campaign kicked off when he defeated teammate and six-time champ Greg Anderson in Gainesville. Glenn and Anderson traded event wins all year, as Glenn finished with eight victories. Glenn and Anderson will be up against their longtime rivals at Elite Motorsports, led by six-time world champ Erica Enders, Jeg Coughlin Jr. and Aaron Stanfield. Pro Stock Motorcycle’s Gaige Herrera has never lost a round at Gainesville. Last year, he earned his third straight Gatornationals win, defeating rival Matt Smith. Herrera won seven races in 2025, but it was Vance & Hines teammate Richard Gadson who earned his first world championship. Gadson and Herrera will once again battle it out, taking on the likes of Steve Johnson, Jianna Evaristo, Angie Smith and Chase Van Sant. This year promises to be one of the biggest races in Gatornationals history. Along with a full slate of racing, fans can expect a multitude of events to celebrate the Amalie Motor Oil NHRA Gatornationals and NHRA’s 75th anniversary, including: A celebration of Bernstein’s historic 300-mph run from 1992. A free, limited-edition NHRA 2026 season poster to the first 6,500 fans in attendance on Sunday. A new-look Nitro Mall, special displays and a 75th anniversary stage in Nitro Alley. Upgraded experiences in the Gainesville Top Eliminator Club – which features a premium experience and a number of exclusive benefits at one of the biggest races of the season – are also available for purchase. Fans are encouraged to purchase early as TEC tickets will sell out. Before the race, fans are invited to a special “Gatornationals Kickoff Party and Fanfest” at Josh Hart’s Burnyzz Speedshop in Ocala. In what’s become an exciting pre-event tradition, the event will take place on Wednesday, March 4. The fun-filled kickoff event will include driver appearances and autographs at the state-of-the-art facility and more. They were always some of the best indoor car shows in our area and we had fun going. When we moved to Texas, we started going to the Dallas World of Wheels show, and while it isn’t huge it is still a pretty cool show with lots of great cars and trucks. So when I saw that Tommy Lee Byrd, the Hot Rod Hoarder, posted up video from the World of Wheels in Chattanooga I knew we had to share. There were some great cars on hand…I didn’t attempt to cover them all. I just filmed some of the ones that got my attention. There are some good ones and some wild ones in the mix.
