The Cheapest ICE-Powered Dodge Charger Officially Goes On Sale
Can't Beat ICEWhen the new-generation Dodge Charger was announced to be going full-electric, most people, especially fans of the legendary nameplate, were skeptical. First impressions of the new Charger upon launch were mixed, but Dodge eventually promised to introduce some ICE models for those craving the authentic muscle car experience. And introduce, Dodge did. Back in August, the automaker launched the 2026 Scat Pack Charger. It featured a turbocharged SixPack high-output (H.O.) engine that makes 550 horsepower and AWD. This time, the brand has opened the order books for the most affordable ICE-powered Charger in the lineup. Expansion PackCustomers can now order and buy the Dodge Charger R/T. The entry-level model is powered by the same six-pot mill, though this version is the SixPack standard-output engine that makes only 420 hp. While a six-cylinder turbo engine sounds a little "off game" for a muscle car, the SixPack is an award-winning engine. It's capable of propelling the Charger to a top speed of 168 mph, and a 0-60 mph time of around five seconds. Some key highlights of the engine include: Twin counter-rotating turbos reduce turbo lag and balance airflow dynamics, improving throttle response and overall engine efficiency in high-performance applications. 100% boost delivers peak torque starting at 2,500 rpm for immediate low-end response. Apart from the engine, the R/T can switch from AWD to RWD with the flick of a switch, making the Charger the only muscle car with both drive options. That AWD system also has a clever front-axle disconnect feature that improves fuel economy. When it comes to other performance features, the Charger R/T will come with the Performance Handling Group, which includes Line Lock that lets you do a warm-up burnout before a drag race, and a Performance-tuned exhaust with a unique, aggressive tuning character. Lastly, optional features like the Blacktop Package, featuring Blacknoise 20-by-9-inch wheels, dark badging and dark exhaust tips, panoramic glass roof, 18-speaker Alpine premium audio system, Demonic Red seats, Driver Convenience Group, and more. View the 2 images of this gallery on the original article Completing the "Multi-Energy Lineup"Matt McAlear, the CEO of Dodge, had this to say about the announcement: “The Dodge Charger lineup delivers freedom to choose the perfect muscle machine, from 420 to 670 horsepower to an internal combustion or all-electric powertrain to a classic two-door or practical four-door model, without sacrificing performance or attitude.” It's available in both 2 and 4 door configurations as well. This launch marks the debut and availability of the full lineup of the Charger. The 2026 Dodge Charger lineup now starts with the Charger R/T at $49,995. Stepping up, the 550-hp Charger Scat Pack begins at $54,995. At the top of the lineup, the all-electric Charger Daytona Scat Pack delivers 670 hp and carries a starting sticker price of $59,995. With the R/T trim now available, the Charger lineup is almost complete – at least until the rumored Hemi-powered version arrives. View the full article

Stellantis Is Backing Germany’s Call to Ease EU Emissions Rules
Stellantis has Berlin's backAccording to a new report published by Reuters on December 1, the large multinational automaker known as Stellantis is backing the German government's plea to soften the European Union car emissions rules that are set to take effect in about a decade, noting that the German Chancellor's proposal is aligned with demands to increase growth in the Automotive industry on the continent. "We welcome the German government's support for revisions to the European regulations," Stellantis CEO Antonio Filosa said in a statement. He noted that the Chancellor built on the points raised by the auto lobby ACEA, "all of which are urgently needed to return the European auto industry to growth," adding that "urgent and definitive action" is needed to boost sales in the region. Alicia Windzio/picture alliance via Getty Images Apart from being the parent company behind American marques like Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep, and Ram trucks, Stellantis is responsible for major European assets, including Fiat, Alfa Romeo, Citroën, Lancia, Maserati, Opel, and Peugeot. Its CEO's messaging comes after Stellantis Chairman John Elkann warned during a Fiat 500 Hybrid event on November 25 that the European auto industry risks an "irreversible decline" if the EU does not soften its emissions stance and grant automakers more flexibility. "There is another way to cut emissions in Europe in a constructive and agreed way, restoring the growth we have lost and people's needs," Elkann said. The Germans ask for helpThis development comes as the European Commission is set to review its carbon-emission targets on December 10, a date it has moved from next year amid demands from automakers who say a total shift to electric vehicles isn't possible. Previously, the EU set a target of 100% reduction in CO2 emissions for new cars and vans by 2035; a goal that has been interpreted as a total ban on internal combustion engines in new cars. In a letter penned by German Chancellor Friedrich Merz last week, he urged Brussels to allow exemptions for several types of electrified cars, including plug-in hybrids, battery-electric hybrids, and range-extended electric vehicles with “highly efficient” combustion engines, as automakers in the country deal with slow electric-vehicle sales and fierce competition from China. “I will ask the commission, even after 2035, to continue to allow battery-electric vehicles that also have a combustion engine,” Chancellor Merz said, per The Guardian. “It is much more opportune and pragmatic to invest more effort and money in the development of efficient, hybrid systems that will combine the best of the world of internal combustion engines on the one hand and electric mobility on the other.” Mercedes-Benz Stellantis isn't the only European automaker on board Germany and Stellantis's plea isn’t the first time an automaker or a government has asked to loosen and/or amend the EU's 2035 carbon-slashing regulation. Previously, major automakers such as Volkswagen and Renault, as well as the Italian government, have each voiced support for loosening or delaying the CO2 targets. At the 2024 Paris Motor Show, BMW Group CEO Oliver Zipse made a case for reconsidering the EU's 2035 zero-emissions goals, noting that the ban would only force Europe and European firms to become overly dependent on Chinese firms for crucial components like batteries. "A correction of the 100% BEV target for 2035 as part of a comprehensive CO2-reduction package would also afford European OEMs less reliance on China for batteries," Zipse said. "To maintain the successful course, a strictly technology-agnostic path within the policy framework is essential." FInal thoughtsIt is interesting to see that these developments are happening as automakers finally recognize the writing on the wall regarding EVs. In new data from the European Automobile Manufacturers’ Association (ACEA), sales of plug-in hybrids (PHEVs) reached nearly 9.4% of new-car sales across Europe over the first ten months of 2025, overtaking the market share of diesel-engined cars; a fuel that once dominated more than half the continent. All in all, these results demonstrate that in a market where regulations and trends would point towards a singular technology, such as battery-electric vehicles, sales numbers reveal whether a particular technology has a future. Although EVs are touted as the future, the present-day charging infrastructure in key regions, such as the US and Europe, has yet to expand to levels where concerns over charging reliability and range anxiety are top of mind for potential buyers. The New Alfa Romeo Quadrifoglios Are Instant Classics, But America Won’t Get Them
A Lifeline for the Flagship Quadrifoglio ModelsThe most powerful versions of the Alfa Romeo Giulia and Stelvio almost reached the end of their production run. For a moment, it seemed like the Quadrifoglio badge would quietly slip away as the brand transitions toward electrification. Thankfully, Alfa Romeo reconsidered and extended the life of its combustion Quadrifoglios a little longer. Even better, the automaker has confirmed that the Giulia Quadrifoglio and Stelvio Quadrifoglio are getting the extremely limited Collezione editions. These models carry the familiar mechanical recipe but are framed as instant collectibles. Alfa Romeo What's Special About the Collezione Editions?Under the hood, nothing dramatic changes, which is part of the appeal. The 2.9-liter twin-turbo V6 continues with 520 horsepower, paired with an Akrapovič exhaust system that comes standard. It's the same sharp-edged combustion flagship that built the modern Quadrifoglio reputation – no hybrid assist, no downsizing, and no pivot toward softer tuning. The exterior treatment is where the Collezione models distinguish themselves. Both debut exclusive tri-coat shades inspired by Rosso Villa d'Este, the color once reserved for the 33 Stradale. The Giulia gets a darker, near-black interpretation, while the Stelvio wears a brighter and more open red tone. Carbon fibre features heavily across the badges, mirror caps, dashboard, central tunnel, and roof, while carbon-ceramic brakes complete the hardware list. Inside, Alfa Romeo goes for a numbered-edition atmosphere. Each cabin receives leather-upholstered dashboards with red stitching, Sparco seats with carbon-fibre shells, Alcantara inserts, and headrests embroidered with the car's specific sequence number, such as "1 di 63 Collezione." These are presented as "Instant Classics" and will be certified as such by Alfa Romeo Classiche. Alfa Romeo But They're Not Coming to North AmericaAccording to Alfa Romeo, both vehicles serve as tributes to the Quadrifoglio emblem and its first appearance on a production car in 1963. As such, they will be limited to just 63 units worldwide across Europe, the Middle East and Africa (MEA), China, and Japan, with only two Giulia units headed to the UK. Unfortunately, it appears that these limited Quadrifoglios are not headed to North America at all. That said, the Giulia and Stelvio Quadrifoglio Collezione rank among the rarest modern Alfa Romeo road cars. Pricing will depend on market allocations and taxes, but given the numbers involved, these won't be positioned as entry points for new buyers. They exist for collectors, longtime Alfa Romeo and Quadrifoglio fans, and drivers who want one more chance to own the Italian marque's most potent combustion models before the landscape changes. The Idea of a Self-Driving RV Seems To Have Everyone Excited
Robovan Back in the NewsThe Tesla Robovan concept was unveiled at the company’s ‘We, Robot’ event in October last year to quite a positive reception. The proposed fully-autonomous people carrier is seeing renewed interest following hints from a senior executive that it may evolve into a self-driving recreational vehicle. This recent buzz has put the spotlight back on one of Tesla’s boldest transportation concepts. Tesla From Prototype to PossibilityThe Tesla Robovan prototype was initially presented as a modular, fully autonomous passenger and cargo solution capable of seating up to 20 people. While it was positioned as a long-term addition to the Tesla Network’s future fleet, the concept’s low-floor design, spacious customizable interior, and all-around panoramic visibility quickly led fans to imagine alternate uses beyond just urban transport. Tesla RV SpeculationLately, social media has been rife with speculation that the Robovan, once launched, could open the doors to autonomous RVs. One of these posts on X came from Y Combinator CEO Garry Tan, who suggested that it was time for autonomous RV startups to emerge. Tesla’s Vice President of Autopilot and AI, Ashok Elluswamy’s two-word response — “On it”, has been enough to set off a new wave of interpretations suggesting that Tesla may be exploring a camper-ready configuration for the Robovan. Tesla Why People Think It’s a Good IdeaThe Robovan concept’s architecture lends itself naturally to the RV conversation. Its flat, unobstructed floor, absence of a steering wheel, and Tesla’s load-leveling suspension all hint at a platform that could be adapted for sleeping, lounging, or even working. The possibility of a self-driving electric RV taps directly into the rising ‘van life’ culture, backed by the promise of stress-free autonomous travel. Tesla The Bottom LineThe idea of a Robovan RV is so far confined to hints and imagination on social media. Tesla has not officially confirmed any plans for a fully self-driving RV based on the platform, and the Robovan is still just a prototype with no production timeline announced so far. Even so, the idea of a fully-autonomous Tesla camper continues to capture attention online, suggesting that the Robovan could be more than just the urban people carries that Tesla originally envisioned. The First BMW 3.0 CSL “Batmobile” Is For Sale and Is Expected to Bring $1 Million
A (Very) Condensed History of BMW 3.0 CSLBMW has been involved since the mid-'30s and became even more active by the mid-'60s. Spurned by the successes on track largely thanks to Alpina and Schnitzer, the M division was formed in 1972 when Bob Lutz focused his efforts on building up a factory race team. There was also the intention to sell road versions of said race cars, which has been quite a successful venture, we must say. The very first official BMW M project was the 3.0 CSL. Affectionately known as the Batmobile, it was intended to compete in the European Touring Car Championship (ETCC) and was built to Group 2 rules. Group 2 required a minimum production of 1,000 units of the vehicle that an automaker intends to compete with, over 12 consecutive months. To get things started, BMW M built 21 'Werks' development cars. 11 of them were raced by the in-house team, while the rest were sold off to privateers. The car you're looking at is E9/R1, the very first one built by BMW M. It's also for sale, in case you're curious. E9/R1The E9/R1 is currently up for auction at Dylan Miles LTD. Aside from being the very first competition 3.0 CSL, the particular car was instrumental in developing the wild (by '70s standard) aero kit that's ingrained in every BMW Motorsport fan's mind. It was extensively tested by Hans-Joachim Stuck and Harald Menzel in late 1972. Its competition debut was rather quiet, as it was the spare car in the ETCC round in Monza in 1973. E9/R1 would later be used in the Deutsche Rennsport Meisterschaft (DRM), the precursor of what we now know as DTM. The drivers? It was Stuck and Menzel. BMW A Storied CareerThe E9/R1 suffered a DNF in its first DRM outing due to a water pump failure. But not long after that, this very car won at the Nürburging on August 5, 1973, with Menzel behind the wheel. This particular car would later win the ADAC-500 km Eifelpokalrennen at the Nordschleife. By the end of the 1973 season, the car was sold to Hurtig Team Libra for the 1974 IMSA season. It was piloted by John Buffum, and while the performances were promising, E9/R1 did have its fair share of mechanical maladies. Its highest finish that year was fourth in the Mid-Ohio 5 Hours. BMW Into Retirement and Private HandsE9/R1 was later sold to Mexican racing driver Daniel Muñiz and later retired from active competition. The car was exchanged twice more, once in the '80s with noted BMW collector Richard Conway, and to another unnamed collector who is said to be an expert on classic BMW competition cars. The car underwent a decade-long restoration to bring it back to its test car look. It made its public debut at the 2021 Goodwood Festival of Speed. It was then entered in the 2025 Salon Prive Concours D’Elegance at Blenheim Palace, winning the ‘Most Iconic Car’ award. Dylan Miles LTD So, How Much Is It Now?As the saying goes, if you have to ask, you probably can't afford it. The price is "on application," so you can bet that it'll go for serious money. Mind you, E9/R1 was already an expensive car way back in the '70s. When BMW M sold the car to Hurtig Team Libra in 1974, it went for a staggering 99,000 Deutsche Marks. For reference, a BMW 525 from 1973 cost 17,505 Deutsche Marks, so you'll need five and a half 5 Series to match the price of the race car. Can it reach a million dollars? It's not too far from reality. Back in 2020, an M1 Procar fetched for $913,000. Given the significance of the E9/R1, that alone makes it worth it. A Flooded Chrysler Pacifica Was Reborn as a Hellcat-Powered Sleeper Van
The Grocery-Getter From HellAmong one-off automotive projects, few creations capture the imagination like a Hellcat-powered minivan. A Tennessee-based fabrication shop has now turned that fantasy into a fully functional machine, completing an extensive year-long build that transforms a humble 2021 Chrysler Pacifica into what the builders jokingly call the “Pacifi-Cat.” The project began innocently enough: a flood-damaged, fully loaded Pacifica was purchased from auction as a blank canvas. But instead of restoring the V6-powered family hauler, the team committed to an all-out mechanical reinvention, centered on the 6.2-liter supercharged Hellcat Redeye V8 sourced from a wrecked Challenger donor. The idea of a Hellcat minivan has circulated online for years. We've seen a similar project before, but this build is one of the first documented, fully engineered attempts to make that fantasy actually road-worthy. What elevates this particular effort is its restraint: the exterior remains unmistakably Pacifica, and the interior retains the practical layout Chrysler is known for. Yet underneath, nearly every major mechanical system has been redesigned, fabricated, or relocated to accommodate horsepower levels normally reserved for Dodge’s most extreme performance cars. The Process Was Not EasyTo make the Redeye powertrain fit, the guys at the goonzquad YouTube Channel stripped the Pacifica to its skeleton and constructed a custom front subframe designed specifically around the Hellcat’s dimensions. New upper and lower control arms were built from scratch, along with a low-profile rack and pinion system to clear the massive engine. Cooling proved another challenge: transmission, oil, and supercharger intercoolers were repositioned throughout the chassis, including in the wheel wells, due to space limitations in the Pacifica’s nose. A custom fuel cell was installed at the rear but designed in such a way that the factory exterior filler remains functional, a small but significant detail that preserves the van’s sleeper demeanor. The rear of the vehicle is just as radical. The team adapted the Challenger’s entire rear subframe, complete with big brakes and the correct geometry to support rear-wheel drive. A new driveshaft tunnel was formed through the Pacifica’s floor, then seamlessly carpeted to retain a stock appearance inside. Unsurprisingly, electronics became one of the greatest challenges. Merging the Challenger’s engine and transmission control systems with the Pacifica’s body modules required extensive rewiring and custom calibration work. While the engine now starts, idles, and responds cleanly, the team continues refining communication between modules to eliminate limp mode and achieve full drivability. Bottom LineWhat began as a flooded minivan destined for the scrapyard has emerged as one of the most ambitious Hellcat conversions in recent memory. With custom fabrication throughout, a near-stock appearance, and the promise of Redeye performance once final tuning is complete, this Pacifica stands as a showcase of both technical creativity and unapologetic automotive enthusiasm. Would putting in a Hellcat V8 crate engine have been better? Probably, but where's the fun in that? When the last electronic hurdles are cleared, the “Pacifi-Cat” may become the ultimate sleeper, a family hauler capable of embarrassing genuine performance cars while looking like it’s on its way to school pickup. It’s the kind of build that reminds the car world why wild ideas still matter: because sometimes the most outrageous concepts deserve to be made real. goonzquad - YouTube Channel View the 5 images of this gallery on the original article View the full article

LEFT STRANDED! The 1956 Chevy Truck Is JUNK! But Is The Unique Predator Carburetor To Blame?
If you aren’t familiar with a Predator carburetor, don’t beat yourself up about it. That is unless you were alive during the heyday of Pro Street in which case you should be ashamed. But I digress. The Predator Carburetor was introduced in the early 1980s and was primarily targeted toward racing engines. They are a variable venturi design that has air doors that open as the engine needs more airflow. They only open as far as the engine needs and all fuel delivery is done based on the opening of the air doors. So the fuel flow is based solely on how much the doors open and the flow rate for a given opening amount is controlled by a small cam that is very easy to change. But this isn’t a full on Predator Carb tutorial, so we’ll leave it at that and let DD give you the rest of the story that impacts his 1956 Chevy Truck. Video Description: Facebook Marketplace provides again. We go pick up a unique supercharger prototype and some predator carbs for Drag Week John. 2027 BMW 3 Series and i3 Colors Leak, Revealing New Shades and Returning Favorites
The recently launched BMW iX3 is proving popular among buyers and winning awards, and in 2026, Munich will capitalize on that positive momentum with the launch of the all-new 3 Series and its electric sibling, the i3. While we wait, a reliable insider has revealed what paint colors will be coming to the sedan pair. First noticed by BMW Blog, the information was shared on the Bimmer Post forum by user ynguldyn, an insider who has repeatedly proven reliable in the past. According to the post, the G50 3 Series will launch with a choice of 10 exterior paint finishes, while the NA0 i3 will have half as many options. Some Familiar Colors And Some New Ones For 2027 3er BMW The first color mentioned for the combustion-powered 3 Series is Alpine White, which is almost always available on any Bimmer and is likely to be the only no-cost option. The full list of purported paints is as follows: Alpine WhiteBlack SapphireMineral WhiteBrooklyn GreySpace SilverFire/Vegas RedLe Castellet BluePolarized GreyOcean Wave BlueEucalyptus GreenThe last three choices first made an appearance on the aforementioned iX3 crossover, which will reportedly also get access to a Frozen (matte) version of Ocean Wave Blue as part of the Individual catalog next year. It's unclear if this will be offered on the 3 Series. Moving on to the i3, its reported paint options are as follows: Alpine WhiteBlack SapphireBrooklyn GreySpace SilverLe Castellet BlueThe i3 gets a smaller selection because it will be built in BMW's Munich plant, which will only produce EVs by the end of 2027, while the regular 3 Series will be manufactured in Dingolfing, marking the first time it can't call Munich its home. Interior Options Have Also Been Revealed By The Leak BMW The insider has also given us an idea of what to expect in the cabins of the two cars, though no options will be as eclectic as the interior of the Vision Neue Klasse concept in these photos. Essential will be a Vivid Grey theme, while Contemporary will mean Castanea, Agave Green, Digital White, or Black options, and the BMW M theme will offer plain Black. Only one Individual leather theme has been leaked: Black Bicolor. The i3 EV will reportedly be available with the same Vivid Grey theme, but its Contemporary offering will comprise Black Bicolor, Digital White, Castanea Bicolor, and Agave Green Bicolor. BMW M Black carries over, while the BMW Individual Leather selection will offer a choice between Black Bicolor and Adelaide Grey Bicolor. The i3 is expected to make its debut in late spring, while the gas 3 Series is only likely to be shown off late in the summer or early in the fall, so we have a little while to wait before we can see these color schemes applied - unless more comprehensive leaks occur. The partnership once again includes the popular $5,000 Off The Trailer Bonus, awarded to the provisional No. 1 qualifier during the opening round of Pro Mod qualifying at the World Series of Pro Mod. Pro Line Racing Engines has become a global force in high-performance drag racing, providing championship-winning engine programs, parts, and turnkey solutions to teams worldwide. Their partnership with the Winter Series reflects a mutual commitment to supporting racers on the biggest doorslammer stage of the winter season. “As a whole, we believe in supporting the places our customers race, but the energy, enthusiasm, and excitement around the DI Winter Series and the World Series of Pro Mod is off the charts,” said Eric Dillard, Co-Owner of Pro Line Racing Engines. “There’s no doubt these events are shaking up the drag racing community, and our whole team is excited to be part of it.” The Off The Trailer Bonus emerged from a conversation between Dillard, Drag Illustrated Founder Wes Buck, and Bradenton Motorsports Park Owner Vic Alvarez, who sought to add an extra layer of intensity to the opening round of WSOPM qualifying. Junkyard Crawl With Steve Magnante: A LUV-LY PICKUP TRUCK – Steve Walks Us Through What Chevrolet’s Isuzu Built Mini Was All About
Chevrolet LUV trucks are awesome little pickups, and they seem to be more popular now than ever, which is saying something. My kid has one, and there are a jillion of them out there at the track, especially in small tire racing where they are a hit. They weigh nothing, are easy to work on, will fit most engines although they can be tight up front, and they are loved by nearly everyone. So if you are a fan, watch this latest video with Magneto to see what he can tell us about one of these little beasts. This $300K Restomod Turns a Mercedes SLK 55 Into a Modern 300SL Gullwing
The appeal of old cars typically lies in their design alone, because living with, sourcing parts for, and maintaining a classic is an experience that can be uncomfortable, difficult, and expensive. This solution fixes at least two of those problems, and compared to the original, arguably even all three; Signature Autosports has created a replica of the 1954-1957 Mercedes-Benz 300SL Gullwing using a 2014 SLK 55 AMG. The restomod is dubbed the 355 SL, and it channels the beauty of the iconic 300SL without the drawbacks that make classic car ownership cumbersome, bringing with it a whole lot more power and comfort. This one is for sale, too, but it costs more than seven times as much as a mint SLK 55, which sells for around $40,000. Original SLK 55 AMG Drivetrain Means Big V8 Power Signature Autosports View the 3 images of this gallery on the original article Produced before Mercedes embraced turbocharging, the original SLK 55 AMG drivetrain beneath this restomod features a 5.5-liter naturally aspirated V8 developing 421 horsepower and 398 lb-ft of torque, sent to the rear axle through an AMG Speedshift Plus seven-speed automatic. The 355 SL retains all the original drive modes, but Signature Autosports didn't leave all the underpinnings alone, opting to fit its creation with a set of height-, rebound-, and compression-adjustable coilovers from KW Suspensions. To maintain the old school look, a set of custom 18-inch three-piece wheels was crafted to fit 300SL hub caps, while Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 rubber provides contemporary security. Meticulous black paint completes the look and hides any differences in proportion better than silver would. Decade-Old Interior Looks Futuristic In This Setting Signature Autosports View the 3 images of this gallery on the original article The restomod also retains the SLK 55's interior elements, with heated power seats (minus the head restraints), air conditioning, a modern sound system, and Bluetooth, while the trunk has been lined in Alcantara. While the swathe of buttons on the center of the dash may look ancient anywhere else, a relic of a bygone era when too many buttons were complained about just as much as too few are bemoaned today, they look positively futuristic in this application. And with those roof-mounted gullwing doors, this feels like the middle point between the 300SL and the SLS AMG. Unfortunately, that doesn't mean it's cheap. This restomod (with a not inconsiderable 69,500 miles on the clock) is priced at $299,950. An SLS AMG can be had for as little as $120,000, though a 300SL Gullwing can cost as much as $6 million. Still, at least the trunk of this interesting restomod is lined with Alcantara, the California title is clean, and some 300SL replicas cost far more.
