Ford built the original Boss 429 as a limited-production Mustang in 1969 and 1970, aiming squarely at the heavyweight end of the muscle car world. More than half a century later, Florida-based Revology has revived the Boss 429 name, but this time a bit differently. IN tradtional Mustang restomod style, the original design stays intact, even its iconic five-spoke wheels, but everything beneath the skin has been rebuilt with modern engineering – and the result comes with a price to match. Buick hasn’t had a sedan on sale in the U.S. since the LaCrosse and Regal were discontinued. Now an SUV-only marque, it’s a disappointing gap in its lineup after decades of classy and comfortable Buick sedans. But this could change in the not-too-distant future, as General Motors is rumored to be exploring the possibility of a new Buick sedan. This new model could potentially share a platform with another new sedan in the General Motors portfolio—the upcoming Cadillac CT5. Related: 5 Future Seda

As the average price of a new car reached an all-time record high of $50,326 in December 2025, U.S. shoppers are having a difficult time keeping up with the increasing total cost of vehicle ownership, which has risen 48% since 2019 according to data from Cox Automotive. Since only one in five American buyers can afford to pay cash up front to get a new car, it goes without saying that car loans and leases are the preferred buying method for the vast majority of consumers. A Sign That Many U.S. N

GM and Toyota just finished a decent 2025 in the United States, but both are signaling the same thing: do not expect a repeat in 2026. After three years of recovery, the combination of record prices, higher ownership costs, and fading one-off supports has them bracing for a tougher market, according to the Wall Street Journal. Record Prices and Stretching Credit The average price Americans are paying for a new car has climbed to unprecedented levels. According to a Kelley Blue Book (KBB) report, the average transaction price for a new vehicle topped $50,000 for the first time ever, driven by a mix of high-end trucks, luxury vehicles, and electric models, with more than 60 models selling above $75,000 and EVs averaging over $58,000. This record price point isn’t just a luxury-segment story: even mainstream models are b

Crash Safety Tests Matter Crash safety tests are one of the best ways to see how cars sold in the US really hold up in protecting their occupants when things go sideways. While missing out on an IIHS Top Safety Pick or Top Safety Pick+ doesn’t mean a car is unsafe for daily driving, the tests reveal potential vulnerabilities. For 2026, IIHS tightened the rules, focusing on rear-seat protection in its updated moderate overlap front crash test. Plenty of models made the cut and grabbed Top Safety

If you feel like every new car on the road looks like it was ordered in the same three shades, you're not imagining things. Fresh data from Axalta shows that global buyers continue to play it safe when choosing colors, with North America being no exception. Despite years of talk about bolder palettes and expressive design, with brands like Bentley now offering 111 exterior paint colors, neutral tones remain firmly in control, just as they were the year before. Neutral Colors Still Rule The Road

The second car built on the innovative Neue Klasse architecture has been teased, and BMW has confirmed that the new i3, or electric 3 Series, will debut on March 18. In a post shared to Instagram, the German automaker has confirmed that the new i3 will have an illuminated front-end, with LEDs framing the face of the electric sedan. Reviving a Legend The recently unveiled all-electric Lexus LFA Concept is joining the growing roster of performance EVs with fake engine noise. Project manager Takashi Doi confirmed this to The Drive with a casual “of course,” adding that “sound creation and development is very important.” Why spend resources on something that isn’t mechanically real? Automakers are still trying to counter the long-standing perception that EVs are “boring.” One of the current approaches is to add emotional cues

Catalytic converter thefts have affected motorists for years. These emission control devices contain valuable precious metals, making them a target for criminals and leaving car owners with bills of more than $2,500 to replace the component. In 2024, approximately 14,000 converters were stolen, according to the National Insurance Crime Bureau (NICB). While brands like Toyota have made anti-theft devices available, more needs to be done. That’s where new anti-theft legislation comes in, and it’s

Honda Needs a Shot in the Arm Honda's EV gamble had ended in disaster. Not only that, the collaboration with Sony is as good as dead. As a result, the Japanese automaker had suffered its first loss in nearly 70 years. The next couple of years will be tough, for sure, but we're pretty sure Honda won't take its current situation lightly. During the company's recent business update conference, CEO Toshihiro Mibe revealed two concepts that will shape its future. One is called the Honda Hybrid Sedan

From EV Retrofits to a New Hybrid Setup Horse Powertrain first made waves with a simple but practical idea: let automakers convert their existing EV platforms into hybrids, rather than building new ones from the ground up. Last year, the company showcased compact, all-in-one hybrid modules that could replace a front electric motor, enabling a hybrid version with minimal additional engineering. Now, Horse is back with a new product that aims for bigger efficiency gains from hybrid combustion. Tea

Horse Powertrain’s Latest Push for Hybrid Efficiency Horse Powertrain isn’t a household name yet, but it’s quickly becoming one of the more intriguing brands in the hybrid and combustion world. With backing from Renault Group, Geely, and Aramco, the company’s approach is simple: help automakers achieve greater efficiency from existing electrified powertrains without forcing a complete redesign. Its latest development continues that approach – a new “Amorphous Motor,” a dedicated hybrid transmiss

Stellantis’ Detour to Electrification Earlier this year, Stellantis quietly dropped several plug-in hybrids from its North American lineup, including Jeep’s 4xe models and the Chrysler Pacifica plug-in. The decision surprised some, but Stellantis called it a strategic shift. Rather than sticking with plug-in hybrids, the company plans to bring back a mix of self-charging hybrids and extended-range electric vehicles (EREVs) instead. The first sign of that new direction is the all-new Jeep Cheroke

The Door Handle Dilemma Automakers cannot seem to leave simple mechanisms alone, often turning them into more complicated systems in the name of innovation, or whatever one chooses to call it. The 2026 Jeep Cherokee is a case in point, with its electronic door “handles,” which could pose safety risks if the vehicle's battery dies. According to Carscoops, however, Stellantis is on top of things and has laid out backup measures in case such an unfortunate situation occurs. Jeep interior design chi

I have to say that I have only had a couple of jump packs ever, but the one I have now does work pretty good. I haven’t put it through anything ultra tough, but when I’ve needed it to get my junk to run when the battery was down, it worked. Mine is from TopDon and I have had it for over a year and it works great. But most of these jump packs make wild claims as to power, so lets see how they actually stack up against each other and their own factory claims. Video Description: What kind of adva

I lived through the original Dare to be Different craze, when guys like Troy Trepanier brought out crazy builds that were based on body styles and models that nobody was normally paying attention to. Troy’s Bumongous was one of the more famous builds that kicked off the movement, but there were plenty of Nash, Studebaker, Buick, Olds, Mopar, and Pontiac builds that turned heads not only because they were awesome builds, but also because they were weird cars that weren’t the norm. This cool 1939
