You can ignore Chinese automakers at your own peril, and European carmakers are learning that the hard way as their once-exclusive home markets are flooded by brands from the Middle Kingdom. While the US market is currently safe from a Chinese auto invasion thanks to prohibitive tariffs, Chinese EVs are already at America’s borders with Mexico and Canada, and the situation doesn’t look sustainable for the US market in the long run. When it comes to US automakers, they have been working closely w

E-Power: Finally Coming to America Nissan's e-Power was, and still is, a pretty clever bit of tech. It's one of the first range extenders to reach production when it was introduced in the Note e-Power way back in late 2016. Since then, that piece of kit has spread across several Nissan models, from sedans, crossovers, and even minivans. The e-Power tech has also made its way in several markets, but America has been missing out on it for years. But, finally, nearly a decade after it debuted, it's

Like Kia, Hyundai achieved its best-ever January sales in the United States last month. Hyundai sold 55,624 vehicles, up 2% year-on-year. Surprisingly, that’s almost 10,000 fewer sales than Kia (64,502) managed last month. That marks a reversal of 2025’s full-year sales, where Hyundai eclipsed Kia by 49,531 vehicles. Of course, Hyundai has 11 months to catch up, and it will be particularly pleased with outstanding January 2026 sales of hybrids. Related: Kia’s January Sales Were On Fire as Six Mo

Kia’s 2027 Telluride is the most significant release for the Korean marque this year. The three-row crossover had a remarkably successful first generation, and the second-gen model is expected to keep that success going. After releasing pricing for the new Telluride last month, Kia has now gone live with the model’s online configurator. Here’s a breakdown of the main options, colors, and packages, along with the single trim we’d recommend for most buyers. Related: 2025 Kia Telluride Vs. 2027 Kia

All-In on EVs Volvo CEO Håkan Samuelsson believes the EV price gap is closing faster than many expect. Speaking to reporters in Stockholm, he said that “if you look five years ahead,” an electric car will “most probably be lower in cost than a combustion car,” The Drive reports. It is a bold prediction in a market where EVs still carry higher upfront prices than comparable gas models. Recent industry data shows electric vehicles remain more expensive to buy than ICE vehicles in most segments, ev

Range Isn't The Only Key These days, a lot of automakers are quite proud of the longer ranges that their batteries can do. After all, we're at the point where we're starting to see them come close to the engines. It does help quell fears of range anxiety, but there's another factor to consider. That would be battery life. We're not just talking about percentages here. We're talking about how much charge the packs can still hold even after hundreds of thousands of miles. Whether it's a mobile pho

Last year, Ferrari unveiled the 849 Testarossa, and it instantly divided opinions. Some said it was just a reskinned SF90 with some mild updates under the skin, others berated its styling, and still others complained that its name was unsuitable for a car with fewer than 12 cylinders. But as a new video from Hagerty explains, featuring Henry Catchpole in the driver's seat, this is so much more than just an updated SF90, and both its ethos and styling fit the name to a tee. Inside the Madness Brabus has built a reputation in the automotive world for its extreme car builds and big-ticket creations that most people will never get to experience. But perhaps the closest we can get is through this new docu-series coming to Amazon Prime Video, which should show what it takes to run a luxury brand that works on high-end models from marques like Porsche and Mercedes-Benz. Titled Brabus: One Second Wow, the docu-series – made in collaboration with i&u Studios – will spa

More Choice for Charger Owners After reintroducing combustion power back to the Dodge Charger lineup, the Michigan-based manufacturer is further boosting the performance car’s appeal with new options for the Sixpack-powered models. This time, however, the additions have nothing to do with horsepower and instead focus purely on cosmetics – namely, a Satin Black hood graphic and Fratzog dual stripes. Owners of the all-electric Charger Daytona may already be familiar with the Fratzog option, as it

The Age of Subscription-Based Features BMW’s push for subscription-based features was pitched as a way to make car ownership more flexible and modern. Owners can unlock features like heated seats, driver aids, or infotainment upgrades after buying the car, paying only for what they want through an online account. But things didn’t go as planned. Heated seats, especially, set off a wave of criticism. Drivers balked at paying monthly for something already built into their cars, and the backlash wa

The Forester Goes Local In 2024, Subaru said that the next-generation Forester would be built at its Indiana plant. Now, as automakers face growing pressure from higher import tariffs, that decision ended up timely, with both the gas and hybrid Forester officially in production. The current-gen Forester marks the first time the nameplate has been built locally since it debuted in 1997. It also represents the first hybrid produced at the Indiana plant, which assembles the Ascent and Crosstrek as

Honda had a solid start to the year in the United States, with 98,594 vehicles sold in January (up by 1.9% year-on-year), including Acura sales. The automaker says this was a strong result, particularly because sales were hampered by severe winter weather in the second half of the month, which affected the Northeast and Southeast regions of the country. Excluding Acura, Honda sold 89,575 vehicles (+1.7%), boosted by strong SUV, passenger car, and hybrid sales. However, sales of the Prelude—a mod

Toyota’s Hybrid Liftback Went Through a Glow-Up When the fifth-generation Toyota Prius landed in early 2023, it changed the game for the not-so-good-looking liftback. The 60-series Prius came in lower, wider, and with a lot more road presence. For a car that was once known more for its green message than its design, that shift made a real difference. The upgrades went beyond the exterior, as Toyota simplified the layout, used better materials, and made the cabin feel like a proper modern compact

BMW’s much-discussed line of ‘Neue Klasse’ electric cars kicked off last year with the new iX3, but arguably more important, at least in terms of the company’s heritage, is the i3 sedan. The electric equivalent of the 3 Series, it’ll mark BMW’s leap into the electric age in one of its core segments – the compact executive sedan. Another Recall for a Recall Fix It’s been more than two years since Jeep first recalled more than 330,000 units of Grand Cherokee for a serious rear suspension issue. However, over 80,000 of them are now headed back to dealerships for another round of repairs. The original problem? Rear suspension parts could come loose while driving, turning into road hazards for everyone. That was supposed to be fixed, but as it turns out, the solution didn’t always hold up. Even after the first recall was sup

Hyundai Most "SUVs" have a tow rating, but there are only a handful that provide capability and the recourses to make the chore of towing easier and safer. A quick note on what “surprising” means here: I’m talking about SUVs you might not immediately think of as tow rigs, yet they deliver genuinely strong towing ratings, typically 5,000 to 8,500+ pounds - while still providing comfort, usability, and reasonable overall size. These aren’t dedicated tow

Given that everyone in the country seems to have experienced some level of freezing in the past week or so, I’m kind of entertained by the shock that some Sick Week competitors expressed when they encountered freezing temps for Day 0 of Sick Week 2026. With that said, it is a first for this event, although there have been plenty of bad weather days in the history of this event. We spent many days in cold and rain on Sick Week #1 and the tradition continues! Check out this video from Sick Week 2

Ram needs to diversify its truck lineup, and the only way to do so is to fill the space below its bread-and-butter model, the full-size light-duty 1500. That means it has to expand into the midsize and possibly compact truck segments, just like Ford did with the Ranger and Maverick. CEO Tim Kuniskis is well aware of that, which is why he has been talking about Ram bringing a midsize truck to market for quite a while now. But the executive knows that in order to make it in the midsize truck segme

The Lawsuit Nobody Saw Coming Dealers are suing Scout Motors in numerous states, arguing the company is violating traditional franchising laws by selling directly to customers. Many U.S. states have carved out exceptions in their traditional auto franchise laws that let manufacturers with no existing dealer network — typically EV-only brands — sell vehicles directly to consumers without independent dealerships, a model pioneered by Tesla and increasingly sought by newcomers like Rivian and Lucid
